Arrested in IMM investigations: Attended his father's funeral under gendarmerie escort

Avcılar Deputy Mayor Erhan Daka, who was arrested as part of the controversial Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) investigation, has been shaken by sad news. Daka's father, Emir Daka, has passed away. Erhan Daka, who is being held at the Marmara Prison in Silivri, attended his father's funeral under the supervision of the gendarmerie.

COULD NOT HOLD BACK TEARS AT THE FUNERAL

Notable moments occurred during the funeral prayer held at the Erenler Cemevi in Esenyurt. Gendarmerie teams formed a security perimeter around Daka. The soldiers, who did not leave his side even while he was carrying his father's coffin, followed Daka step by step throughout the entire ceremony.

While the moments when Erhan Daka broke down in tears marked the funeral ceremony, Daka was taken back to prison after the funeral.

POLITICAL FIGURES WERE ALSO AT THE FUNERAL

CHP Deputy Chairman Suat Özçağdaş and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan also attended the funeral ceremony. The party officials, who conveyed their condolences, stood by the Daka family on their day of grief.

LAID TO REST IN TEKİRDAĞ

The body of the late Emir Daka was taken to be buried in the Yeniçiftlik Cemetery in the Marmaraereğlisi district of Tekirdağ. The funeral procession, accompanied by family members and politicians, was sent off with prayers.
