Attempted attack on CHP mayor! Employees intervened

An attempted attack was made on CHP Sapanca Mayor Nihat Arda Şahin. The individual, who was attempting to reach Şahin's office, was neutralized by the intervention of municipal employees.

STOPPED BY THE INTERVENTION OF MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES

In a written statement issued by the municipality regarding the incident, the following was noted:

"We are working with determination to return every inch of land and every public space that belongs to our people in Sapanca to their true owners. A new one has been added to the ugly attempts targeting public order and democratic will by certain circles who are uncomfortable with this determination of ours.

Today, after we prevented an attempt to essentially seize a public space, an individual who was uncomfortable with this situation jumped over the turnstiles in our municipal building, came to the office of our Mayor, Mr. Nihat Arda Şahin, and attempted a physical attack. Thank God, thanks to the timely intervention of our team members, the attacker was apprehended and the situation was brought under control.

This incident is an attack not just on one person, but on the will of the people of Sapanca, the rule of law, social peace, and an entire city. We will not be discouraged by such provocations. On this path we have set out on to make Sapanca the Sapanca of the people, we will neither bow to threats nor surrender to fear. The determination of our Mayor and our team to serve our people has only been strengthened after this attack. All necessary legal proceedings have been initiated. We respectfully announce this to the public."
