President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a stern warning to his party's deputies regarding disruptions caused by their failure to attend the TBMM General Assembly. Most recently, on April 10, a session was closed because a quorum could not be reached due to the absence of AKP deputies from legislative activities.

In his speech at his party's Group Meeting, Erdoğan emphasized the importance of deputies' participation in the TBMM General Assembly. Stating that one of the primary duties of deputies is to ensure active participation in the work of the legislative body, Erdoğan said, "Ensuring the General Assembly functions without interruption is our primary duty." Erdoğan added, "In your contacts with our citizens, you see that our people expect service from us. They expect projects and works," underscoring that deputies must fulfill their duties.

WE DO NOT HAVE THE LUXURY OF DASHING THE NATION'S HOPES

Addressing the AKP deputies, President Erdoğan said: "I would like to reiterate that none of us has the luxury of dashing the nation's hopes for any reason whatsoever. If our nation has sent us here to represent them, we must perform this sacred duty properly, without seeking excuses, without getting stuck on obstacles, and without falling into the traps of the opposition." Erdoğan emphasized that the AKP must not allow the opposition to hinder parliamentary work.

Erdoğan told the AKP deputies, "Ensuring that the supreme assembly carries out its legislative duty fully and completely, both in terms of committees and the general assembly, is our primary duty as the ruling party." This statement conveys the message that the AKP must take an active role in legislative processes.

Finally, President Erdoğan stated that he expects his deputies to fulfill these duties in the most efficient manner, in a way that befits their party and values. By saying, "I expect you to fulfill this duty in the best and most efficient way, in a manner befitting our party and our values," Erdoğan called for an increase in the sense of responsibility within the party.
