Bad news for Netanyahu!

The Israeli Supreme Court has annulled the government's decision regarding the dismissal of Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara. The court, sitting as an expanded panel of seven judges, stated that this decision lacked a legal basis and was taken through a hasty procedure. It was also noted that there was insufficient consultation with professional organizations during the dismissal process.

Israeli Justice Minister Yariv Levin criticized the court's decision, stating, "There is no court in the world that would force a government to accept a legal advisor who has lost the government's trust." Levin claimed that the court has adopted an anti-government stance.

In August, the Israeli cabinet, under the leadership of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, had approved the dismissal of Attorney General Baharav-Miara. However, the Supreme Court had frozen this decision by issuing an interim injunction. The court's final ruling has invalidated the steps taken by the government on this matter.
