Bahçeli had supported the 'broadcast live' call: CHP is taking action
Following MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli's support for the proposal to broadcast court hearings live on television, the CHP is bringing its prepared legislative proposal to the agenda. The proposal, which includes broadcasting hearings on TRT or the internet, will be submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey this week.
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli signaled his support for a notable proposal by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel during his speech at his party's group meeting. Recalling Özel's call that "Courts are open to the public, and hearings should be broadcast on TRT," Bahçeli stated, "We hope this expectation will be evaluated as reasonable and legitimate. Let the Turkish nation see the facts."
CHP IS READY FOR THE LEGISLATIVE PROPOSAL
Following these remarks by Bahçeli, the CHP has taken action. It has placed on its agenda the proposal prepared last month, which regulates the live broadcasting of hearings on TRT or via the internet.
It is expected that the CHP will submit a motion this week to have the proposal, prepared with the joint signatures of CHP Group Deputy Chairmen Ali Mahir Başarır, Gökhan Günaydın, and Murat Emir, taken directly to the General Assembly agenda.
