Bahçeli makes notable 'file' and 'ring' references ahead of Erdoğan-Özel meeting: 'Allah is enough for me...'

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli made statements regarding the current agenda at his party's group meeting. 

"THE READMISSION AGREEMENT MUST BE TERMINATED"

Criticizing the influx of migrants and asylum seekers, Bahçeli mentioned that they have brought the "Cross-Border Migrations" study to the agenda, stating, "We are against dangerous trends that will damage our demographic independence and our demographic future; we are firmly against the influx of people that will hybridize our population balance, our national structure, and our existence in this geography. The voluntary, safe, and dignified return of Syrian asylum seekers currently in our country under temporary protection status must be ensured in stages, the back of irregular migration must be broken, and the Readmission Agreement must be terminated. The MHP's view on this important issue is one and the same with the view of our nation," he said.

"AS A PARTY, WE WILL DO THE WORK THAT FALLS TO US..."

Stating that he finds some steps in the economy positive, Bahçeli commented, "We must not let our low- and middle-income people be crushed by inflation. We must gradually alleviate the complaints of our retirees. We must do our best to ensure that every segment and every person in our growing, strengthening, and developing Turkish economy receives a fair and equitable share."

Bahçeli had also previously stated regarding the minimum wage and the cost of living at his party's Kızılcahamam camp for the first time after the elections, "If something comes regarding an increase, we will support it."

Following that speech, Bahçeli spoke about the economy for the first time at his party's group meeting.

Holding up the "Project for Calculating the Minimum Welfare Level via Index and Income Support for Families" file, Bahçeli said, "This project is a study that aims to carry out the work that falls to us as a party for its implementation, to engage in dialogue with other parties, and to embrace everyone—hungry, thirsty, poor, whoever they may be, regardless of which segment they belong to."

'RING' AND 'FILE' DETAIL

Furthermore, the words "Allah is enough for me" on the ring Bahçeli wore at the group meeting were interpreted as a criticism of the 'normalization' and 'softening' rhetoric ahead of the Erdoğan-Özel meeting.

Bahçeli holding up the file titled "Project for Calculating the Minimum Welfare Level via Index and Income Support for Families" was another detail that caught the attention of the cameras.
