Bahçeli starts the new term harshly: Defends Soylu, targets Kılıçdaroğlu

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made evaluations regarding the agenda at the first group meeting of the new legislative year.

The highlights from Bahçeli's statements are as follows:

“My dear fellow deputies, esteemed guests, and valued representatives of our press, we are entering the new legislative year under this blessed roof with the collective beating of our hearts. I greet you all with my most heartfelt feelings and respect. I greet the citizens following our meeting and my brothers and sisters who are struggling for existence in our geography.

I wish the new legislative year, which began on October 1, to be auspicious for our nation. I wish you all success. I pray for God's mercy upon Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the heroes of the national struggle, the deputies who have passed into eternity, and our dear martyrs.

Whoever ignores our Gazi Assembly, whoever falls into doubt while mentioning its name, is in darkness. It is impossible for them to understand our republic or to commemorate the assembly with respect. The foundation of the Republic was laid in the TBMM (Grand National Assembly of Turkey). During the War of Independence, the Turkish nation knew how to be a single voice against oppression. We endured many years where the dawn did not break and disasters followed one another. Our homeland was set on fire, our nation was besieged. With the Treaty of Sèvres, a so-called country, squeezed into a quarter of today's Turkey, with restricted homeland territories plundered, deprived of a national army, and colonized, was deemed appropriate for our nation. Our nation challenged this humiliation with its blood.

"LONGING FOR A MANDATE IS THEIR HOPE"

It is futile for the puppets of global imperialism who have infiltrated us to acknowledge this truth. Longing for a mandate is their hope. The history of the Republic of Turkey is the call of the Assembly. This call is the call of Independence. This call is the call of national unity and brotherhood. We will witness a historical turning point in this legislative year of the Gazi Assembly. We will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. The Republic of Turkey, which embraces a hundred-year history with a free mind and conscience and tries to leave its mark on the next hundred years, is our pride. We will show this to both friend and foe.

"WE HAVE BOTH OUR MADMEN AND OUR SAINTS"

We will share a national pride collectively with 85 million Turkish citizens. In 26 days, we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. Turkey is our paradise on earth. The Turkish Nation, the sole owner of sovereignty, is our eternal essence. I would also like to state this: we have both our madmen and our saints. Those madmen are enamored with the homeland, enamored with the nation, enamored with independence. Even our maddest one is much smarter, much more intelligent, and much more of a man than the sold-out pens. We will preserve our Turkey will, with its state and nation, under all conditions and circumstances. No matter how widespread sedition may be, we will overcome every difficulty that stands before us with the support of virtuous hearts. We will focus beyond the horizon with the same ranks and the same ideals. We have fulfilled our patriotic duties with the power of our faith. We will continue to do so.

"SPENDING ASTRONOMICAL SUMS TO GET RID OF OBESITY POINTS TO A DISTORTION"

The state being victorious and the nation being prosperous is the main framework of our politics. Today, a problem manifesting in one corner of the world finds an echo in another. While there are 800 million hungry people in the world, spending astronomical sums to get rid of obesity points to a distortion. The concentration of those living in luxury and those in misery shows that the tragic picture is deepening. Terrorist attacks and ethnic conflicts are an indication of how cheap human life has become. Humanity is in the grip of restlessness, in the center of gravity of the 'every man for himself' mentality. The spirit of democracy and freedom are merely rhetoric mechanisms used to deceive the eye.

Even if the state of the current world is scattered, Turkey cannot close itself off. It cannot turn its back on its surroundings. Our ultimate goal is clear. We swear we will not turn back from our path, we will not give up our ideal, and we will not compromise on the Red Apple (Kızılelma). We will not let any coward trample our country. If there is morality, there will be no destruction. If we are looking for copper today, we will definitely reach gold tomorrow.

"WE HAVE PERFORMED SURGERY ON CHRONIC PROBLEMS"

In the Presidential Government System, we have performed surgery on chronic problems. We have shown that the Presidential Government System is a source of hope. We have added strength to our power. As long as the MHP and the People's Alliance (Cumhur İttifakı) are strong, democracy is under guarantee. It will be the People's Alliance that will make every effort to solve Turkey's priority issues. There is no one to be fooled by those who are hand-in-glove with terrorist organizations. We are of the same opinion as we were yesterday. It is out of the question for us to give credence to second-hand beliefs, worn-out clichés, or prejudices circulating in a multi-story parking lot. We have never had a lax temperament. We have not deviated from the purpose of doing politics in a manly way. Those who know us, know us. Every word that comes out of our mouths is binding. Consistency is indispensable for us.

TARGETED KILIÇDAROĞLU

Those who join hands to dig a trench in front of us are those who try to fly by making wings out of beeswax. They deserve to lose. Fighting them is a wedding and a feast for us. As a party, we sincerely aim to share our roadmap. We want to address the internal agenda and external developments as a whole and record our thoughts in history.

In the elections, the TBMM was formed and the People's Alliance won the majority. It supported the strong will in the Presidential election. By embracing the Century of Turkey, it appointed Mr. Erdoğan as the head of the state again. The second 5-year term was also transitioned into with democratic maturity. The word and the decision belong to the nation. Kılıçdaroğlu's reaction to the nation's choice is the result of fascist impulses. It is the Turkish nation that holds the election. It is the Turkish nation that elected President Erdoğan; where is the distortion in this? Where is the moral void and legitimacy problem in this? What is the source? Is it legitimacy to form an alliance with FETÖ members in the USA and England, or is it legitimacy to meet with the PKK and HDP? Is it legitimacy to demand freedom for Kavala? Let him explain so we know. Where is it legitimate that he is lecturing us on legitimacy?

Turkey does not need the delusional promises of liars and rootless people who look one way and act another, whose hearts say one thing and tongues another, but rather brave political figures who work day and night with their teeth clenched. The People's Alliance is standing tall. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his cabinet are on duty. Kılıçdaroğlu should look at himself.

He should calculate how to regain his reputation. The CHP has gone off the rails. The People's Alliance is not confused enough to enter a polemic race. We are busy with the real agenda of the nation and regional developments. Our nation gave these political cripples the lesson they deserved in the elections. They still haven't grasped it. They still don't seem to care. The biggest radish will come out on March 31, and the book of the 'zillet' (humiliation) alliance will be closed.

"OUR NUMBER ONE AGENDA ITEM IS THE EARTHQUAKE"

Our number one agenda item is to fully repair the damage from the earthquake, heal the wounds, and build and deliver 650 thousand new and safe houses. As can be understood from our President's speech at the opening of the TBMM on October 1, nearly 600 thousand of our citizens are residing in containers set up in the earthquake zone.

BAHÇELİ'S STATEMENT ON 'PENSION RAISE'

Our second agenda item is to spread social welfare and relief to every segment. Successful results are being achieved in the fight against inflation. The high cost of living will lose its effect day by day. Our retirees have no choice but to reach a humane wage level. Our sincere wish is for a raise above inflation and for the raise to be reflected in the base salary.

ATTEMPTED ATTACK IN ANKARA

It is impossible for terror to achieve results or make Turkey take a step back. Hopefully, the roots of these human defects will be eradicated. There is no second option between peace and terror, security and terror, humanity and terror. Whoever displays a suspicious stance against the separatist terrorist organization should review their situation and immediately separate their paths that intersect with treason. The front and back of the October 1 terrorist attack will be clarified rapidly. The October 1 attack was carried out against Turkey.

DEFENDED SOYLU: IT IS NOT RIGHT AND FAIR

The fact that registered FETÖ members are lining up to slander Süleyman Soylu, and that some are badmouthing the incumbent Minister of Interior, is a time-adjusted trap. It is dangerous to play with the honor of our public officials. Gossip about some names who have been removed from office is not right and fair.

CALL FOR A NEW CONSTITUTION

The MHP is ready for the preparation of a new constitution with a 100-article proposal text. Political parties represented in the TBMM should act with a constructive attitude and stance that supports the demands of our nation instead of avoiding responsibility. A coup constitution is not worthy of Turkey. Kılıçdaroğlu's outburst that "there can be no constitution with one man" is ignorance.

"CYPRUS STATE" OUTBURST

The participation of the TRNC as an observer country in the Organization of Turkic States meeting to be held in Kazakhstan on November 3, 2023, will be an important threshold for the recognition of Turkish Cypriots. There is no need to say TRNC anymore; it is necessary to say "Cyprus State". The natural gas pipeline between Iğdır and Nakhchivan will also further strengthen relations for one nation.

I pray for mercy for those who were martyred in Azerbaijan's anti-terror operation. I offer my condolences to Azerbaijan and our nation. Karabakh is Turkish, it belongs to the Turkish Nation. It is Azerbaijan's land until the end. It is our sincere wish that the meeting to be held between Mr. Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan in Spain on October 5 will lead to auspicious outcomes.
