Bahçeli targets İmamoğlu without naming him in conquest message: 'The current siege of Istanbul will also be broken'

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli stated that the conquest of Istanbul was not only a victory but also a symbol of culture and brotherhood, adding, "The authors of political and ideological destruction, who have not been able to accurately understand or grasp the spirit and consciousness of the conquest with their will, have practically lined up to take revenge for the magnificent victory of 572 years ago. However, all despicable efforts are in vain."

In his statement, Bahçeli claimed that Istanbul has been "condemned to a spiral of theft, bribery, and corruption," and said, "The fact that Istanbul, which is a window of history, culture, and brotherhood opening to the world, has been condemned to a deep and arduous spiral of theft, bribery, and corruption stands before us as a great wound that pains the national heart."

In the continuation of his message, Bahçeli also claimed that the problems Istanbul is facing do not align with the legacy of the conquest:

"It is inevitable that the current painful period, which contradicts the reason, morality, and spiritual legacy of the conquest, will be left behind, and that blessings will be born from affliction. Just as the chains placed on Istanbul were broken 572 years ago, today's siege will be broken in the same way."

Bahçeli claimed that Istanbul has been "deprived of safe and competent hands," and concluded his message with the words, "Every conquest is the reward of comprehensive preparation, a firm will, and believing hearts."
