Bahçeli's applause for Bakırhan had become a talking point: Turhan Çömez explained the reason for that look

A scene during the budget negotiations in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey became a talking point. MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli applauded the DEM Party members, whom he did not shake hands with upon entering the General Assembly hall, following their budget speeches.

There were two people watching Bahçeli, who applauded Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan at length as he spoke on behalf of the DEM Party, with bewildered eyes. One was İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu, and the other was İYİ Party Group Deputy Chairman Turhan Çömez.

İYİ Party MP Turhan Çömez explained the much-discussed photo to Haber 240.

Turhan Çömez said, "The DEM Party co-chair thanked Mr. Bahçeli in his speech. Naturally, I expected Mr. Bahçeli to respond to this with applause. However, it became noteworthy when it was a quite long applause."

NO APPLAUSE FOR ÖZEL

The Grand National Assembly of Turkey General Assembly negotiations for the 2025 budget, which has completed its committee stage, have begun.

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, who has recently dominated the political agenda with his handshakes with DEM Party figures and his subsequent call regarding Öcalan, made a noteworthy move while in the General Assembly.

Bakırhan also greeted Bahçeli with a nod.
