Bahçeli's 'December 17-25' statement: 'It is impossible to remove it from our agenda'

Bahçeli's 'December 17-25' statement: 'It is impossible to remove it from our agenda'

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli argued that the People's Alliance (Cumhur İttifakı) is the existential reflex of Turkish history and a symbol of the existence and unity of the Turkish nation. Devlet Bahçeli stated that in this process where the global political-economic system is being rebuilt, Turkey is unfairly portrayed as the country with the highest risk of internal turmoil, and asserted that the People's Alliance is a national safeguard and the self-confidence of the nation.

Bahçeli claimed that the alliance is a power defending Turkey's rights to independence and its future, and that it presents an example of a reason- and morality-based unity that embraces both the people and the Republic.

Expressing that the efforts of factions that write dark scenarios about Turkey and attempt to push our country into a passive position to strengthen the front of sedition will remain fruitless, Bahçeli stated that the ambitions of these factions are destined to be thwarted.

DECEMBER 17-25 STATEMENT

The MHP leader stated that the December 17-25 process and the July 15 FETÖ coup attempt are among the greatest threats Turkey has faced, emphasizing that they will never stop remembering these treacherous attempts and keeping them on the agenda.

Furthermore, Bahçeli stated that some global internet platforms, social media channels, and media organizations are trying to create an uproar as if there is a rift in the People's Alliance, and claimed that such efforts will end in frustration.

''The People's Alliance is the existential reflex of Turkish history and the symbol of the existence and unity of the Turkish nation.

In a period where the global political-economic system is being rebuilt and Turkey is unfairly and shamelessly portrayed as the country with the highest risk of internal turmoil in the coming year, the People's Alliance is a national safeguard and the self-confidence of the nation.

Our alliance, based on reason and morality, which embraces the people and the Republic, is the pivotal power of the honor of guarding and defending our rights to independence and our future.

Those who write dark scenarios about our Turkey, create new chaos equations, and prepare plans for it to be a passive and intervenable country on the stage of history have recently begun to turn the wheels of gossip rapidly and to fortify and reinforce the front of sedition on an increasing scale.

Those who think this dangerous picture escapes our notice are undoubtedly rotten individuals drifting in a whirlpool of deep negligence and malice.

The December 17-25 police and judiciary coup process is the incubation phase of the July 15 FETÖ treason. The framework of the July 15 occupation attempt was woven with the December 17-25 process.

For this reason, it is impossible to remove either the July 15 armed uprising or the December 17-25 plot of FETÖ from our memory and our agenda. Furthermore, it is not right to do so.

Aside from the fact that the circles acting as a fifth column to smear the clean struggle of the People's Alliance are rowing in vain, it is an absolute and destined fate that their ambitions and goals will remain thwarted, framed by treason.

I must also especially and repeatedly remind you that the uproar created by global internet platforms, social media channels, organized interest groups, and some newspapers and television stations (especially Halk TV) as if there is a rift in the People's Alliance is destined to end in frustration and disappointment. Of course, it is inevitable to settle accounts with these circles when the day comes.

The People's Alliance will continue its blessed march as the harbinger of the Turkish and Turkey Century, and as the reward of dignity and excitement for future generations.''
