BBP states that the proposed commission threatens Turkey's structure
The Great Unity Party (BBP) has claimed that the permanent specialized commission proposed in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey aims to weaken Turkey's unitary structure.
The Great Unity Party (BBP) has leveled harsh criticism at the proposal by the DEM Party and some opposition parties to establish a permanent specialized commission in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. The BBP argued that this proposal is an effort to create a structure open to federalism.
In the BBP's statement, it was noted that the proposal is viewed as an "effort to establish the infrastructure for a multi-identity and ethnic-based structure." The statement included the following: "This structure, presented to society under the guise of democratization, directly aims to weaken the principle of national sovereignty and the constitutional order."
A THREAT TO TURKEY'S FOUNDING PRINCIPLES
The BBP emphasized that the proposal is not merely a technical arrangement, but also an attempt to erode the founding principles of the Republic of Turkey. Stating that temporary and advisory structures are safer, the BBP warned that a permanent commission could open the Parliament to constitutional engineering.
The statement said, "The abuses experienced in the past during the resolution process must not be repeated," and expressed that such a step must be evaluated carefully in terms of historical responsibility and constitutional sensitivities. The BBP stated that such regulations should be avoided in the name of protecting the unity of the nation and the constitutional order.
