Behind the scenes of the convention night revealed: 'They took Kılıçdaroğlu and dragged him inside'

KARALAR DESCRIBED THE CONVENTION NIGHT ON LIVE BROADCAST

Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar described what happened on the night of the convention during a live broadcast on tv100 with the following words:

"During the speeches, both sides were adopting an attitude of interrupting the speakers. On one side were those praising Mr. Özgür, and on the other were those praising Mr. Kemal. At one point, a group was trying to prevent Mr. Özgür from speaking. Özgür Özel said, 'Zeydan Brother, silence them.' I went out and said, 'These are not our friends, we need to silence both sides.' I asked the friends and silenced them. I was in the hall when the results were announced."

"ONURSAL ADIGÜZEL CAME AND SAID 'YOU CAN SOLVE THIS'"

"Onursal Adıgüzel came and said, 'You are our elder, the chairman needs to step down now, you can solve this.' Later, Vahap Seçer called me and said, 'Mayor, let's meet and talk; it is more appropriate for the chairman to step down under these conditions.' Alper, I, Engin, and Vahap met and talked. We agreed that the chairman should step down. Engin called and said, 'Sir, this is the situation; it would be more appropriate for you to step down.' Kılıçdaroğlu agreed to step down. We called Mr. Ekrem as the convention chair. Mr. Ekrem could not come because he was busy at the time. We also wanted the election not to start. We heard that Mr. Ekrem had arrived and the election had begun. We said, 'How can this be?' and met in another room. Mr. Ekrem also called Mr. Özgür, and we talked. It was said, 'However, withdrawal can only happen with the person's own written statement.' The Chairman said, 'I am coming then.'"

Karalar continued as follows:

"While we were waiting for Kılıçdaroğlu, İmamoğlu went to welcome him. When he arrived, he did not come to the room where we were; he went to the room where there was shouting and yelling. We entered the room and then came back out. Kılıçdaroğlu's intention was to step down. He was going to talk to Mr. Özgür and say, 'This is how it should be now.' Not only İmam Bakır Üküş but other deputies also spoke. They took Kılıçdaroğlu and dragged him inside. But by that time, the voting had started, and 70 percent of it was finished. The news that the chairman would step down had spread throughout the entire hall."
