Breaking News... 9th wave of operations targeting İBB: Another CHP mayor detained!

A 9th wave of operations targeting İBB has been launched. Searches are being conducted at the homes of Beyoğlu Mayor İnan Güney, İBB Human Resources official Yiğit Oğuz Duman, and several individuals at Medya A.Ş.

According to information obtained, detention orders have been issued for a large number of people, including Beyoğlu Mayor İnan Güney.

It was stated that detention orders were issued for a total of 44 people and that 40 people have been arrested.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office made the following statement:

"Within the scope of the investigation being conducted by our Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into corruption at İBB;

Detention orders have been issued for a total of 44 suspects: 35 suspects — including Beyoğlu Mayor İnan GÜNEY — who have been identified as having been involved in numerous fraud acts within Medya A.Ş, Kültür A.Ş, and İBB, and who are connected to Murat ONGUN, a suspect in the crimes of managing a criminal organisation for profit, extortion, bribery, fraud against public institutions, and unlawful acquisition of personal data, as well as fugitive suspect Emrah BAĞDATLI; and 9 suspects within the social media structure of the criminal organisation operating under the control of Murat ONGUN whose connections to fugitive suspect Emrah BAĞDATLI have been established."

The 42 individuals detained in the operation are as follows:

İnan Güney, Yiğit Oğuz Duman, Hasan Yalaz, Bora Aramacı, Aysun Vural, Esma Bayrak, Güngör Bozkurt, Hasan Erkan Kabakçı, İsmail Akkaya, Asraf Engin Güner, Mehmet Kaya, Ersan Şık, İbrahim Can Yaman, Yunus Göçer, Nurul Taha Yüksel, Alper Yıldırım, Deniz Göleli, Duygu Fikirli, Şükrü Fındık, Nazlı Dalar, Veysel Eren Güven, Burak Karakuş, Alican Ayvataş, Mustafa Sezer Yerli, Erdal Akbay, Mehmet Akif Bulut, Sabriye Akkaya, Çiğdem Nasuhbeyoğlu, Ümit Karakaya, Mahir Gün, Recep Cebeci, Ferda Yıldız Selbasan, Yusuf Yüce, Özge Bağdatlı, Kazım Eren Sönmez, Ahmet Bozkurt, Tarık Bora, Mesut Taşkın, Tuğba Koçak, Hare Dinçer, Seyhan Özcan, Mehmet Türkoğlu, Utku Doğruyol, Zekai Kırat.
