Breaking News... Bahçeli speaks at group meeting after 4 months

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli spoke at his party's TBMM Group Meeting.

Bahçeli last spoke at his party's group meeting on January 28, 2025. It was announced that the MHP leader, who was hospitalized on February 4 after falling ill, had undergone heart valve surgery. Following the passing of Sırrı Süreyya Önder, Bahçeli had visited Parliament 99 days later to convey his condolences to DEM Party members.

Bahçeli had first appeared in a photograph 66 days after his surgery while visiting the grave of Alparslan Türkeş, the founding chairman of his party.

The MHP leader, who has resumed his duties, had not yet made a speech in Parliament. With tomorrow's group meeting, Bahçeli is addressing party members after 4 months and 27 days.

"HERE WE ARE, STANDING TALL"

Arriving at the MHP Group with his staff, Bahçeli was given a standing ovation by party members for a long time.

The MHP leader began with the words, "Here we are, standing tall. We are continuing on our path from where we left off."

Bahçeli's statements are as follows:

"We desire a superpower Turkey. We are striving to strengthen our national unity and solidarity. We know well who will be the guarantor of national identity and peace if our country's security is endangered. We do not conduct our politics based on empty dreams. We know that if you do not question the causes, the results remain meaningless. To us, politics is an opportunity to serve the Turkish nation, of which we are proud. It is the skill of standing out in the race of service entered into with other actors. But the subject is always the Turkish nation.

Our politics will always exist as long as the Turkish nation exists. Our reason for existence is the great Turkish nation. We do not practice politics as turning the wheel of lies and discord. We are aware that politics is a very serious business. At the end of all our sincere efforts lies our nation's journey into the new century. Behind this tremendous struggle are the pure dreams of tens of thousands of my fellow party members who have dedicated their time and their entire lives to politics.

There is no small or large threat, no important or unimportant danger. We cannot say 'nothing will happen to us.' We cannot allow a mentality that says 'let go of these fairy tales' when asked who might attack. While looking ahead, we are obligated to walk in the footsteps of the past.

The shaking of geographies through bombing will hinder peaceful dialogues, trigger proxy wars, and lead to endless turmoil. The entrenchment of injustice, moral decay, and a crisis of conscience have dominated every corner of the earth. The slaughter machine, the genocide gang of Zionist barbarism, not stopping until today and ignoring all criticism, is not just a monument of shame before us, but an anarchy of banditry that requires us to be vigilant.

I say a so-called state because Israel has ceased to be a state according to the rules of international law and has turned into an army of murder, a death squad, and a terrorist state. The international community must act immediately, and Islamic countries must stop playing the three monkeys. If not today, when will the Ummah and the nation show signs of revival?"
