Breaking News... CHP congress concludes: Özgür Özel's 'A-team' is set

The 39th Ordinary Congress of the Republican People's Party (CHP), which began on Friday, November 28, under the slogan "Now is the Time for Power" and lasted for three days, held its final day today at the Ankara Arena.

On the final day of the congress, members of the Party Assembly (PM) and the High Disciplinary Board (YDK) were elected. The voting process began in the afternoon at 3:00 PM. The voting procedure lasted approximately 4 hours.

ÖZGÜR ÖZEL RECEIVED ALL THE VOTES

The election for the party chairmanship was held on the second day of the congress. In the election where Özgür Özel ran as the sole candidate, 1,357 delegates went to the polls. While 1,333 votes were counted as valid, 24 votes were deemed invalid. Özel was re-elected as the chairman of the CHP by receiving all of the valid votes. Thus, Özel has been elected chairman for the third time in the last year and the fourth time in the last two years.

ÖZGÜR ÖZEL'S LIST APPROVED WITHOUT DEFECTIONS

In the key list presented by Özgür Özel for the Party Assembly election, 49 names from the existing Party Assembly retained their positions, while 31 new names were included in the list. Özel's list was approved without any defections.
