Breaking News... Critical meeting in İmralı: Terrorist leader Öcalan gives 'new phase' message
A DEM Party delegation held a three-hour meeting with PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı. It was stated that terrorist leader Öcalan pointed to democratic society, peace, and integration as the three fundamental concepts of the process, while his emphasis on a "new phase" drew attention.
Van MP Pervin Buldan, Urfa MP Mithat Sancar, and Asrın Law Office lawyer Faik Özgür Erol, who are part of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) İmralı delegation, met with terrorist Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı yesterday.
A written statement was issued today regarding the meeting, which lasted approximately three hours.
“HE EMPHASIZED THE NECESSITY OF A NEW PHASE”
The statement conveyed that Öcalan made comprehensive assessments regarding the process. It was stated that Öcalan delivered the following messages:
''Democratic society, peace, and integration are the three key concepts of the process.
It is possible to reach a result on this basis.
For this, it is necessary to take urgent steps in all dimensions and to initiate a new phase.''
“I AM ALWAYS IN FAVOR OF A DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC”
It was stated that terrorist leader Öcalan underscored that his preference has always been for a democratic republic and integration based on a democratic society.
According to the statement, Öcalan noted that this strategic approach would provide gains for all of Turkey and expressed the following:
“The simplification or disregard of this preference by some political and media circles harms the process.”
“THE PROBLEM HAD REACHED A GANGRENOUS POINT”
It was stated that the leader of the separatist terrorist organization, Öcalan, likened the problem to a "wound that has reached a gangrenous point" while describing the stage the process has reached. The statement included the following remarks from Öcalan:
“The problem we are experiencing had become gangrenous to the extent that it required a special surgical intervention. We conducted the process with this sensitivity; our goal was to do everything in our power to end a painful period.”
The statement also included the following:
“Mr. Öcalan has once again expressed his great belief in eternal friendship and peace between peoples on this occasion.”
