Bahçeli to the Constitutional Court President: If you have the courage, go to Qandil

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made assessments regarding the agenda at his party's group meeting in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).

Speaking about his party's preparations for the local elections planned for March 31, 2024, MHP leader Bahçeli targeted Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.

Stating that they will spend the election preparation process to the fullest, Bahçeli said, "We will send the metropolitan mayors, who visit Istanbul in their spare time if they feel like it, back to their homes. The central government and local governments will be one voice and one heart. Our nation will surely hold those who divert municipal resources to separatists accountable," he said.

Highlights from Bahçeli's statements are as follows:

"From October 14 to November 26, we will have brought together all 81 of our provinces and all our districts with our consultation meetings. Explaining our party's strategic goals and our perspective on local elections clearly reveals the MHP difference in politics. I heartily thank my dear fellow party members. We know that a rolling stone gathers no moss. We are extending our hand to all 85 million. We are opening our hearts to every one of our people.

HE TARGETED İMAMOĞLU

ISRAEL-HAMAS CONFLICTS

Since October 7, the blood of the Palestinian people has been flowing. The cries of the oppressed are echoing in the world. Israeli attacks continue without recognizing any rules. Israeli military elements are massacring innocent people, regardless of whether they are babies, children, the elderly, or women. Civilian residential areas are being bombed. What is essential is not a pause in the conflicts, but the provision of a permanent ceasefire. On November 11, 2023, the OIC and the Arab League met in the capital of Saudi Arabia to discuss Gaza. No one has displayed as firm and sincere a stance as our President, whose proposals and thoughts are respected and stand out. So, when will the rights of Gazan babies be fully protected?

"WE ARE TEARING UP THE EU COMMISSION REPORT OR MAKING PAPER PLANES"

CRISIS IN THE HIGH JUDICIARY

A consensus table must manifest in every field and area. We are Turkey all together; we are all the Turkish nation. What is right is to reach a consensus on justice and law. According to us, the address for consensus is the sacred existence of the great Turkish nation. There is no problem we cannot handle. There is no place we can reach by constantly ignoring and falling into the trap of negligence. Law is the balance and order of social life directed toward justice. There cannot be a lawless state or unjust law. What is essential is justice, and law is essentially the instrument of justice.

The ignited state of disagreement and tension between the Constitutional Court (AYM) and the Court of Cassation is a situation we never desire in terms of legal security. The process between the Constitutional Court and the Court of Cassation, which has reached the point of confrontation and criminal complaints, is not a state crisis but a miserable fabrication of those who want to see it that way. I say clearly to those who expect a crisis and perform a crisis ritual that they will be disappointed and their ambitions will be left unfulfilled.

"THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT IS THE DROSS AND PAIN OF THE LEGAL ORDER"

It is clear that the ongoing heated debate specifically between the Constitutional Court and the Court of Cassation is not unique to the latest violation decision. If it continues like this, this court will also issue a violation of rights decision for Fethullah Gülen and Murat Karayılan. The Court of Cassation has done its duty completely.

What are the real intentions and real thoughts that the President of the Constitutional Court is mumbling under his breath? We think that the President of the Constitutional Court has clearly overstepped his bounds. Do not mess with the Turkish state; if you have the courage, go to Qandil. The court president has lost his objectivity and has taken a stand against national unity and brotherhood. Two options emerge before us: the Constitutional Court must either be closed or restructured."
