BREAKING NEWS... Erdoğan responds to 'Ummahism' criticisms: 'Since when has it become a crime'

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered the closing speech of his party's “32nd Consultation and Evaluation Meeting” in Kızılcahamam.

Highlights from Erdoğan's statements are as follows:

"We see that our messages, which give confidence to our friends and brothers, have found their mark. Our nation's glorious journey from a past full of victories to a bright future has, thank God, reached a new milestone. The doors to a new era are opening before our country.

We are step by step turning our ideal of the Century of Turkey into reality. We have reached the threshold of completely freeing our nation from the shackles of terrorism that were placed on its feet 47 years ago. Our half-century-long struggle of patience is slowly reaching salvation. The ceremony held on Friday was meaningful in this respect. We have carefully followed the disarmament process in the field with the mechanism established under the leadership of our MIT and TSK presidencies.

Our Speaker of Parliament is already managing the formation of the parliamentary commission. We hope to receive positive news from there soon as well. No one has the right to disrupt or sabotage the process or to engage in petty calculations. In life and in politics, everything can be compensated for, but there is no compensation for making things difficult in such a vital matter that will affect the peace of 86 million people. My nation will not forgive this. We are going through days when politicians must fulfill their duties to the nation.

"WE ARE DETERMINED TO CARRY THE PROCESS TO THE END AS 3 PARTIES"

When the future of the Turkish nation is at stake, we will talk to everyone. We are open to criticisms and critiques, as long as they are for the benefit of this nation. We welcome the positive or negative views of anyone who does not turn the issue into a snack for ideological fights or completely different agendas. Because we do not engage in personal politics or interest-based politics. We do not engage in petty politics; we engage in national politics. We engage in Turkish politics, civilization politics. We do this by considering the interests of our nation, especially our martyrs' relatives and veterans. We also understand those who look at the process with suspicion and we are striving to eliminate their hesitations. This new era imposes important responsibilities not only on the AK Party, the Nationalist Movement Party, and the DEM Party, but on all political parties. We consider it important for party officials to be involved in the process. As 3 parties, we are determined to carry this process to salvation until the end. In a period when the world and our region are being restructured, this is the only way we can carry our country to the place it deserves and build a great and strong Turkey.

ERDOĞAN AGAIN TARGETED THE CHP AND ÖZGÜR ÖZEL

We are facing a new scenario. We cannot see irresponsible, unconscious political rhetoric as independent from what we have experienced in the last 23 years. This time the extras are different, but the game is the same game. We have watched this theater many times. We know their goals, their methods, and their actors very well. The cards are being reshuffled in the world. Not only the climate of hope but also our country's strategic moves are being tried to be sabotaged. They want to harm our economy with a boycott list against the national economy. This is the reason why we do not take the CHP and the caricature figure at its head seriously, despite all their struggles. We are aware of who we are fighting against. Our interlocutors are not the puppets, but the puppeteers who play them as they wish. Why would our brotherhood manifesto from yesterday bother a person? Why would a child of this country be bothered by the embrace of Turks, Kurds, and Arabs? They have come out and accused us of 'Ummahism'. Since when has defending the unity of the Ummah become a crime?"

WHAT HAPPENED?

Following the start of the terrorist organization PKK's disarmament process, President Erdoğan, who made evaluations yesterday (July 12), had given messages regarding the process. Stating that "A new page has been opened today," Erdoğan expressed that a commission would be established in Parliament and said, "We will start discussing the legal needs of the process." Stating, "We, as the AK Party, MHP, and DEM Party, have decided to walk this path together," Erdoğan said, "We will be facilitators to ensure the matter is concluded swiftly, in accordance with the sensitivity of the process, without hurting anyone."

SUCCESSIVE STATEMENTS ON "AKP-MHP-DEM PARTY" REMARKS

Regarding Erdoğan's words, "AK Party, Nationalist Movement Party, DEM, we have decided to walk this path together, at least as a trio," DEM Party Imrali Delegation member Pervin Buldan said: "It should not be pulled in the wrong direction. This alliance is a process alliance. It should definitely not be perceived as any other alliance. Everyone's line and the path they follow are clear. Therefore, this was a message that the DEM Party will walk a common path with the People's Alliance in terms of the process. Of course, as the DEM Party, we are at the very center of this process, but it is the People's Alliance that needs to resolve it. Therefore, such a togetherness and collaboration will be meaningful."
