Breaking News... Erdoğan speaks for the first time after cabinet reshuffle: 'Give up the tavern jargon' jab at Özgür Özel!

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made statements at his party's group meeting in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Erdoğan began his speech by addressing the targeting of Mihalgazi Mayor Zeynep Güneş over her style of dress.

“I CONDEMN THE FEBRUARY 28 MENTALITY”

Erdoğan made the following remarks regarding the criticism directed at Zeynep Güneş and women:

I express my gratitude to all our lady friends, along with our Mayor Zeynep Güneş, for demonstrating the thousand-year nobility of the Anatolian woman here today once again. I condemn the arrogant, base mentality that is a remnant of February 28 once again today. We have not turned a blind eye to the exclusionary and oppressive mindset in this country, and we will not. We will not leave the field to those who shake their fingers at women. We will stand tall against those who try to revive the dark days of the past.”

WOMEN FROM ESKİŞEHİR CAME TO THE ASSEMBLY

It was stated that women from Eskişehir also came to the Assembly to support Mihalgazi Mayor Zeynep Güneş, who attended the AKP Parliamentary Group Meeting at Erdoğan's invitation.

GÜNEŞ SAT NEXT TO ERDOĞAN

It was observed that Erdoğan sat side-by-side with Zeynep Güneş, whom he had invited, during the group meeting.

“OUR STANCE HAS BEEN CLEAR FROM THE BEGINNING”

Continuing his speech by touching on regional developments, Erdoğan said that as the government and the People's Alliance, they are closely following the process and taking the necessary steps. Stating that they have maintained a clear stance on Syria since the first day, Erdoğan expressed that they attach importance to the implementation of the January 18 and January 30 agreements.

Continuing his assessments regarding Syria, Erdoğan said:

“Syria's peace is our wish. It should not be forgotten that violence will only fuel greater violence. The time has come for Syria's resources to be spent not on digging tunnels under cities, but on the prosperity of all segments of the Syrian people.”

Highlights from Erdoğan's statements are as follows:

HARSH REACTION TO ÖZGÜR ÖZEL: "HE SHOULD STOP PLAYING POLITICS WITH TAVERN JARGON"

For 13.5 years, they just stayed silent and ignored the oppression. They didn't even think about what was happening beyond our borders. Just as they have looked down on Arabs and Kurds for decades, they continue to do so today. Seeing this bigotry, we feel ashamed on their behalf. My nation now sees the true intentions of these exploiters very clearly. My Kurdish brothers and sisters see the games being played very clearly. My Arab citizens know very well whose subcontractors they are. Only the CHP chairman does not see this. Those who wrap this person around their finger do not see it. Frankly, we do not expect the person at the head of the CHP to put forward a policy or produce a project. With their latest disgrace, we no longer have any hope for this. He should stop playing politics with tavern jargon! Politics should be done without swearing.

"MAY GOD GIVE PATIENCE TO OUR CHP CITIZENS"

The fact that in the CHP, the newcomer makes you miss the predecessor never changes.

The nation has stopped watching TV series; every evening they take their tea and seeds and started watching the scandals of the CHP. Whatever you look for, it's all there. What can we say, may God give them wisdom and our CHP citizens patience."

"HOUSES FOR EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS WILL BE INTEREST-FREE"

Continuing his speech, Erdoğan touched on the work in the earthquake zone and claimed that the work in the earthquake zone was being belittled. Criticizing the opposition, Erdoğan said, "Those who cannot even appear before our earthquake victims, to whom they promised free houses in the squares, with a single work, cannot talk to us today."

Erdoğan made the following statements:

"We have completed 455 thousand 537 independent units in the earthquake zone as we promised. I say may our earthquake residences be auspicious. This success story, written in a short period of just 3 years, is the success of a great and powerful Turkey. We, the state and the nation, put our hearts together, worked, and realized what was called impossible in 3 years. The main opposition and its comrades are throwing mud at the work done in the earthquake zone. They are belittling the work in the earthquake zone. They know neither how to lay a stone upon a stone nor how to remain silent with decency. Those who cannot even appear before our earthquake victims, to whom they promised free houses in the squares, with a single work, cannot talk to us today. We, on the other hand, are focusing on how we can better serve our nation. I once again commemorate our earthquake martyrs with mercy. I pray for patience for our remaining brothers and sisters."

Speaking about the payment plan for the houses built for earthquake victims, Erdoğan said, "Our citizens in our 11 provinces will reach their homes without difficulty, under very favorable conditions, interest-free, and at fixed prices." Erdoğan stated, "Disaster residences will be paid at the same price for 18 years. Housing prices will be an average of 1 million 800 thousand. For our 3+1 residences, the monthly installment will be 8 thousand liras. If they pay in cash, they will pay 480 thousand," he said.

THE CHANGE IN THE CABINET

In the final part of his speech, Erdoğan touched upon the appointment of Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek to the Ministry of Justice and Erzurum Governor Mustafa Çiftçi to the Ministry of Interior, and thanked former Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç and former Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya for their services.

Erdoğan wished Gürlek and Çiftçi success in their new duties.
