Breaking News... First statement from Kılıçdaroğlu: He will hold the group meeting at the Headquarters

Following the court ruling of absolute nullity regarding the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was appointed as Chairman, announced that he would speak at the party's group meeting on Tuesday. Following Kılıçdaroğlu's statements, CHP leader Özgür Özel also announced that he would be the one speaking at the CHP group meeting. As all eyes turned to the 13:30 group meeting, citizens went to the TBMM early in the morning to support Özel. When those supporting Kılıçdaroğlu also arrived at the area, an argument broke out between the two groups.

Some deputies supporting Özel took their places in the group hall where the meeting was to be held in the early hours of the morning, while some deputies spent the night at the Parliament to ensure they could enter the hall early. TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş announced that, as a "security measure" following the tension in front of the Parliament, no visitors would be admitted to the CHP group meeting.

OPEN CALL FROM YAVAŞ TO KILIÇDAROĞLU

While the crisis regarding who would hold the group meeting in the CHP continued, Mansur Yavaş also addressed Kılıçdaroğlu and called for common sense.

Stating that it is everyone's responsibility to prevent unwanted scenes from occurring under the roof of the Parliament and in the public eye, and that Kılıçdaroğlu is therefore expected to act with common sense, Yavaş said, "I believe that every constructive step you take on behalf of the unity, brotherhood, and future of the CHP will find a response in society and add strength to our party. The Republican People's Party is the common home of us all. The sensitivity you show to ensure this home is not harmed will be appreciated not only by our party members but by all citizens who believe in democracy."

STATEMENT FROM KILIÇDAROĞLU

As the crisis deepened, Kılıçdaroğlu, quoting Mansur Yavaş's call for common sense directed at him two hours before the group meeting, made the following statement:

"I said it in the courtrooms, and I declare it once again from here today:

Let those who want to turn the true children of this party against each other by inciting a total public uprising know that we will never allow those dirty ambitions to pass! Efforts to create internal turmoil only pave the way for those eager for foreign intervention. We will break this game!

Now is not the time for fighting, but for standing shoulder to shoulder. I invite all my fellow travelers, the children of this deep-rooted plane tree, to calm and reason.

Today is the day to protect the father's hearth! I call on all our party members and every citizen whose heart beats for this country to our Republican People's Party Headquarters, that is, our Father's Hearth, to hold a group meeting shoulder to shoulder at 14:00.

We are one and we are together."
