"Başak Demirtaş is our comrade. She worked in the field for the elections during the May 14-28 period. If Başak Demirtaş wants to get involved in politics from somewhere, that place is, of course, the DEM Party. Anything else would be surprising, in my opinion. Başak Demirtaş herself has already expressed it clearly; she says, 'I have not received such a proposal from our party, but if a proposal comes from our party, I am ready.' Başak Demirtaş has an emphasis there; she says, 'If we believe that we will pave the way for peace and democracy, and if a responsibility falls upon me for this, I am ready.' The statement regarding dear Başak Demirtaş's possibility of becoming a candidate is being discussed as if it were a surprising statement. We are, in truth, watching this with astonishment.
