A verdict has been reached in the defamation lawsuit filed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and Republican People's Party presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu.
In the case, which came to the agenda with Erdoğan's demand for 250 thousand liras in compensation, the court decided to set the compensation at 150 thousand liras.
The court ruled that İmamoğlu's statements regarding the President violated personal rights. Thus, a compensation decision lower than the requested amount was issued.
