Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç reacted to the remarks by DEM Party members that 'The ball is now in the government's court' in a statement regarding the new reconciliation process.
Yılmaz Tunç said, 'What do you mean the ball is in the government's court? We are not playing ball. These efforts must be supported. People in positions of responsibility should not harm this process. They need to make positive contributions. There is no question of bargaining.'
'THE CALL HAS NOT YET BEEN ANSWERED'
Stating that the biggest obstacle before Turkey is the 'scourge of terrorism,' Tunç said, "We are struggling to get rid of the scourge of terrorism. We have made significant progress regarding this."
Reminding of the call for the terrorist organization PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan to lay down arms, Tunç used the following expressions:
"The call to lay down arms has not yet been answered. Our entire goal is the liquidation of the terrorist organization and the cleansing of our country from the terrorist organization."
