BREAKING NEWS... Millions gather in Saraçhane: Dilek İmamoğlu addresses the crowd... 'They are afraid of Ekrem'

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was arrested by the court he was brought before after being detained on the morning of March 19.

The Saraçhane rallies, which began following İmamoğlu's arrest, are continuing without slowing down. Hundreds of thousands of citizens have gathered in Saraçhane in response to calls and have come together to support İmamoğlu.

Ekrem İmamoğlu's wife, Dilek İmamoğlu, addressed the crowd in Saraçhane. CHP leader Özgür Özel is expected to make a statement following Dilek İmamoğlu.

Dilek İmamoğlu included the following statements in her remarks:

They arrested Ekrem İmamoğlu. There is a very deep pain in being subjected to injustice right before everyone's eyes. They want us to surrender to the hopelessness they have created. But that will not happen.

What was done to İmamoğlu has touched every conscience. That is why our people are resisting. For years, what did they not do to make İmamoğlu appear guilty?

Those who govern the country are afraid of the love for İmamoğlu. They attempted to push İmamoğlu out of politics. All of Turkey is resisting.

Dilek İmamoğlu recounted what Ekrem İmamoğlu experienced during the 2016 elections and recalled his words, "I will not eat anyone's rights, and I will not let anyone eat mine." Following this, chants of "Thief Tayyip" were heard from the area.

Dilek İmamoğlu said, "They want us to surrender to the hopelessness they have created, but that will not happen."

İmamoğlu stated, "I will continue to fight not only for him, but for everyone whose rights have been violated."

Dilek İmamoğlu said, "Ekrem İmamoğlu has defeated you 4 times before, and he will defeat you a 5th time! He will defeat you whether he is a candidate or not! He will defeat you whether he is outside or not! Because he is now the symbol of the nation's struggle for dignity. You will be defeated!"
