Breaking News... No verdict in CHP convention case
No verdict was reached in the lawsuit regarding the CHP convention process. The court adjourned the hearing of the case to September 8.
Disputes regarding the convention process within the Republican People's Party (CHP) had been taken to the judiciary. The hearing for the case, which was opened following objections from intra-party opposition, was held today. However, the court did not issue a final ruling on the case.
The court panel, having heard the defenses of the parties, stated that examinations would continue and adjourned the hearing to September 8, 2025.
The case, which carries the risk of 'absolute nullity' (the invalidation of the November 4-5 convention), began at 10:04 AM at the Ankara 42nd Civil Court of First Instance. After a one-and-a-half-hour hearing, the case was adjourned to September 8.
It was observed that former Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Lütfü Savaş, who initiated the judicial process with his complaint petition, and former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who is at the center of the controversy, did not attend the hearing.
