Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel made statements at his party's parliamentary group meeting.

Pointing to the rallies they initiated following the detention and arrest of Ekrem İmamoğlu, Özel said, 'On the night of March 18, we will all be standing in Istanbul.'

Özel stated, 'We are completing the district rallies tomorrow evening. We are continuing with the 3rd district rally, the regional rally we will hold in Bakırköy on behalf of the districts in the 3rd district. We will count the regions as 3, 2, 1, and on the evening of March 18, we will all be standing together in Istanbul on that historic night.'

The highlights from Özel's speech are as follows:

We have left behind an intense week together. We have 39 districts in Istanbul. After March 19, when we held our final rally in Saraçhane on the evening of Wednesday, March 26, we had announced a decision. We said, 'They arrested Mayor Ekrem, but we are entrusting this place to a Republican People's Party member elected from within the municipal council. Our 7-day mandatory residence here and our democracy vigil together have ended in Saraçhane.'

"I HEARTILY THANK ALL DEMOCRATS WHO ARE MEMBERS OF THE TURKEY ALLIANCE"

But on Saturday, we will set foot in Maltepe, that is, in Anatolia, and from now on, we will be in a city in Turkey every Saturday and in a district in Istanbul every Wednesday evening. When we started this that day, a few weeks later, it was said, 'What will happen when summer comes? How will it be when the universities empty out in that heat, when Istanbul empties out? How will it be when autumn comes, when winter comes? How will it be with the rain, the hail, the storm, the snow?' We said, 'A rally cannot be held under the conditions you are describing. "THEY HAVE BECOME AFRAID OF THE OPPOSITION'S IFTAR TABLE"

On Saturday, on the third day of the blessed Ramadan in Istanbul, we attended the iftar organized by the Felicity Party (Saadet Partisi). I thank Chairman Mr. Mahmut Arıkan once again. The deputy chairmen and chairmen of the DEVA Party, the Future Party, and the New Welfare Party were there. The deputy chairman of the Justice and Development Party was there, and we sat down and had an iftar. There was no politics at the podium during the iftar; there was only Gaza and Palestine. Everyone who spoke said this was the beautiful table that Turkey has been longing for. The iftar ended, and we dispersed. Those who have indexed staying in power only to evil have become so blinded by malice that they did not even realize that the AKP deputy chairman was at the table, and they turned to that table and said, 'The Felicity Party did not hold this iftar. The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality held this iftar, and it was done with its resources.' Of course, this greatly saddened the Felicity Party members, the loyal defenders of the National View (Milli Görüş) movement, and we were also very uncomfortable. In fact, while these discussions were continuing, a Felicity Party member grabbed my arm the other day and said, 'Mr. Chairman, Mr. Chairman, don't look at them. Those who provided the iftar from the IBB treasury had already gone to the AKP; those who can hold an iftar with solidarity from their own pockets continue in the National View's Felicity Party.'

People judge others by their own standards, but the government is in such a difficult position that it is afraid of the public squares, afraid of debating, and afraid of facing me. They are seizing our municipalities, and I ask, 'What are you doing?' Come, let's put a ballot box in Aydın, for example, and let the people of Aydın decide who will govern Aydın. Let's put a ballot box in the places where people were elected from the Republican People's Party and you forced them to change parties through threats, blackmail, and other means; that is what they are running away from. They are afraid of retirees, they are startled when workers raise their voices, and in the end, they have even become afraid of the opposition's iftar tables. Columnists are writing, 'I looked there, what did I see?' What did you see? I saw the Table of Six; no, there was this on it, there was that under it. To those who try to create hostility from an iftar table, failing to even see that the Deputy Chairman of the Justice and Development Party was at that table, I say this: I swear by God, goodness will win, and evil will lose. Those who eat honest bread will win, and those who live off ill-gotten gains will lose. Those who see brotherhood at that table will win, and those who stir up enmity from that table will be buried in history.

"TAX WEEK HAS TURNED INTO A WEEK OF SHAME"

The last week of February is Tax Week every year. We are currently in Tax Week. Of course, this is not a week to be celebrated because Turkey is the country with the most unjust tax system in Europe; it has turned into a week of shame.

"THERE IS A SPECIAL CONSUMPTION TAX (ÖTV) ON EVERYTHING EVERYONE NEEDS"

I say it from time to time in the squares, and it attracts more attention the more I say it. We have a chart that explains the tax issue in the AKP's dark order in the simplest way possible.

100 liras of tax is collected in Turkey. The realization is around 65, but when they don't get what they expect from here, it reflects on the percentage. Their intention this year: The world's most unjust tax, indirect taxes; 62.4%. Who pays this? My worker brother pays it, my housewife sister with her child in her arms pays it, the farmer pays it, the retiree pays it, the nurse pays it, the doctor pays it.

These taxes, the most unjust taxes in the world, make up 62.5% of the total tax collected. The tax you pay when you turn on the electricity, the tax you pay for natural gas, the tax you pay when you buy clothes and shoes for your child... When you pay the money and get the receipt, the tax you pay the moment you pay the money is 62.5%.

The rest is income tax. Everyone here who is sad, whose 3 out of 12 months of salary goes to taxes, and whose tax is deducted from their salary, pays it. There is a certain amount of withholding tax inside; the withholding tax deducted from money earned in the bank is included in the income tax. And the tax deducted from salaries... This is 25.5% deducted from anyone who receives a salary, whether they are blue-collar or a civil servant.

What remains? An 11% corporate tax. From this grinning wealthy brother of mine... From the one who actually makes the money... In Turkey, 11% is collected from those who pay the primary taxes in the world. The total of taxes collected from workers, retirees, laborers, civil servants, and farmers is 62%; the rate of tax collected from those who earn, those who profit, and those who make money is 11%. We are in the midst of such an injustice.

And in Turkey, a Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) is also collected. When it first came out, they called it a 'luxury tax.' When you hear that, you think, 'Well, let those who make luxury expenditures pay more; at least it would be more reasonable than the tax taken from those making mandatory expenditures, from those buying a coat for their child, or stationery for school.' Currently, a tax that started as a luxury tax, called the Special Consumption Tax, is being collected; and what does it include? It is on nail clippers, kitchen gas cylinders, and natural gas. In other words, there is ÖTV on everything that is essential and that everyone needs.

What is it not on? The tax they introduced as a luxury tax; it is not on diamonds, it is not on jewelry, it is not on that watch worn by that member of parliament—the AK Party Eskişehir deputy who took votes from the IYI Party in Eskişehir and then defected to the AK Party—but when you go and buy a kitchen gas cylinder or pay your natural gas bill, there is a Special Consumption Tax.

Taxation in Turkey has reached such a state that explaining it, creating awareness about it, and demanding accountability for it will perhaps be the first and most important wish and duty that will both mark Turkey's upcoming election period and reveal to the incoming government who it will collect taxes from, who it will collect less from, and who it will favor; that will be the primary duty of that government.

"IN THE WORLD, ONLY IN TURKEY IS THE TAX HIGHER THAN THE PHONE ITSELF"

These days, a mobile phone that young people really want to own has hit the market, a new model, an expensive model. This mobile phone is sold for half the price abroad; its price in Turkey is 107,999 liras, 108 thousand liras. You are buying a phone, and naturally, the state collects a tax on this purchase; it takes 10% or 15%; in the world, in America, it takes 8%, with 4% going to the state and 4% to the central government. In Turkey, 54,959 liras of a 108,000-lira phone is tax, and 53,000 liras is the phone. In the world, only in Turkey is the tax higher than the phone itself. You are going to buy a phone; you pay 55,000 liras in tax, and you pay 53,000 liras to own that phone, which is the most advanced in the world and which every one of our young people wants to have.

Of course, for a young person in Turkey to own this, their father has to work for 4 months; in some European countries, it takes 19 days; not even a month, 19 days of work. This phone has a 50% Special Consumption Tax (30,000 liras), a 20% VAT, a 12% TRT banderole fee (Why? Because it takes a 6,400-lira TRT banderole fee in case you turn on the radio or watch TRT on the phone), and a 1% Ministry of Culture share (530 liras). A total of 54,000 liras. And the interesting thing is, because VAT is applied after this ÖTV, they are also taxing the tax.

I said it at the rally the other day; my hometown, Manisa, is a place I love very much, miss very much, and talk about very much. The Lydians, in the Sard neighborhood of today's Salihli—it was a town, now it's a neighborhood—in Sardis, they invented the first money. They minted the money and used it for the first time; the Lydians are the inventors of money. Then the Sumerians invented taxes; that is, you make a transaction, you earn money, and you have to give a portion of it to the state; they invented this.

It is something that, if not something we should all be proud of, should at least make us smile bitterly; Mr. Erdoğan is the owner of the greatest invention in this regard. He has discovered how to tax a tax. I mentioned this the other day, and young people are quickly having artificial intelligence create various drawings and caricatures on social media. In one corner, Sumerians are collecting taxes with money, and Mr. Erdoğan arrives and says, 'That job isn't that easy, there's a tax on that too.' A tax on a tax...

When buying a mobile phone, the method Mr. Erdoğan invented is used to collect tax on the tax, on the tax, on the tax. The state puts a tax on a sum of money three more times on top of the same money, and in the end, it finds a way to collect more tax than the price of a mobile phone by taxing the tax, the tax, and the tax.

To end this injustice... Young people used to start jobs and ask, 'How much is the salary?' 'Well, the salary isn't much, but,' in today's money, an engineer would start a job and say, 'The salary is 55 thousand liras, but there are bonuses four times a year.' We used to say, 'Oh, that's good.' Great, 16 salaries instead of 12. Now there aren't many jobs like that left; we don't hear about them. Now you get 12 salaries; three of the 55, 60, or 70 thousand lira salary that young blue-collar or white-collar brother of mine will receive go to taxes. So, they receive 12 salaries, 9 remain in their pocket, and three go to taxes. We are facing such a situation.

"IF 100 LIRAS OF PRIVATIZATION WAS DONE, THE AK PARTY DID 86 LIRAS OF IT"

We said it is Tax Week, and of course, it is an important awareness campaign during Tax Week; both to pay taxes and to see where the taxes go. Thanks to the social media account of the Revenue Administration, they posted a beautiful photo of the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul, saying, 'What comes to mind first when you think of tax? The state collects taxes but builds bridges and roads,' and wished everyone a 'Happy Tax Week.' The message is: We are building bridges with your taxes. A nice post.

Immediately after that, I would like to remind you once again that preparations are being made to sell those bridges. All the achievements in history, that is, whatever the Republic built, were later privatized. It started in the late 1980s; if 100 liras of privatization has been done so far, the AK Party did 86 liras of it, 86%. In other words, the AK Party took 86% of the sales of everything built before it during the Republican era and put it in its pocket; supposedly, it was going to provide us with services with that money.

Now they have come for the two bridges, the two bridges on the Bosphorus... You know about the third bridge; it is both very expensive to cross and it is not ours. I suppose those who built it will be collecting money from those crossings for another 22 years, and if they cannot collect as much as they expected, the state will pay them the difference with a crossing guarantee. But the first and second bridges and seven highways; they intended to sell the places that the state built, which are currently ours, and where the crossing fees are reasonable compared to the others.

"THE BRIDGE BUILT BY THE STATE IS 59 LIRAS, THE BRIDGE CONNECTING KOCAELI TO YALOVA IS 959 LIRAS"

For example, the bridge built by the state currently costs 59 liras. The bridge connecting Kocaeli to Yalova, which Mr. Tayyip himself discovered and claimed 'not a single penny will come out of our pockets' for, but for which he provided a passage guarantee, costs 959 liras. One is 59 liras, the other is 959 liras. For this cheap, 59-lira toll, you travel, for example, from İzmir to Çeşme; on the road that the late Özal opened while listening to cassettes with Semra Hanım, saying 'Put on a cassette, Semra, let's enjoy ourselves,' 103 kilometers costs 59 liras. You go from this side to Akhisar, and on the road Mr. Tayyip had built, 103 kilometers now costs 359 liras.

Now they intend to sell these bridges and raise the 59-lira toll to 300-350 liras. I draw your attention to the fact that these bridges have an annual revenue of 600 million dollars at these cheap prices. At these cheap prices... When it multiplies by five, six, or seven as they say, it will be 3-4 billion dollars. The Justice and Development Party government intends to privatize these bridges, which generate 600 million dollars with today's tolls, and the money they are aiming for is 3 billion dollars. In other words, they will sell 25 years of revenue for five years' worth of rent.

25 years... The money will come in five years anyway; we are receiving one this year, and by the time you finish this business in the second, the next year's will come. They are giving up 25 years of earnings to get three years' worth of money upfront. And the worst part is, by raising the 59-lira bridge they abandoned to 359 liras, they will perhaps recover the money they gave in one year, in 9-10 months. For the remaining time, all of us, while crossing our own bridge—and there is no alternative to this; that is, if there were a free state bridge in Istanbul, you could privatize the second, third, or fourth, and those who have money could use those, but you would say this is our state's service for those who don't. There is no such bridge.

A man lives on the Anatolian side and works on the European side in Istanbul; he pays 60 liras today for the bridge he is forced to cross, which I think is absurd, but tomorrow he will pay 359 liras. We are saying this, we are asking. I asked last week, 'Give a clear answer to this question.' They answer everything, but there is not a word. Not from the AKP spokesperson, not from the ministers, not a single word of answer from Mr. Erdoğan. I stated the documents, gave them to my friends, and they shared them with the press.

Two documents appeared in the press; one from three months ago tells the General Directorate of Highways: 'You privatize something on bridges and roads; take the cafeteria, gas station, a part of the road... Write from the beginning that when these are privatized, your contract will end, and we will not pay compensation.' The second one says: 'A foreign company will come, see the bridges, examine the infrastructure; help them, provide every kind of convenience.' They didn't say a peep about these documents either.

'LET THOSE WHO HEAR THIS TELL THOSE WHO HAVE NOT'

A valued journalist colleague of ours called the minister, called the ministry and asked, 'Are you going to sell them?' He said, 'CHP has strong allegations.' They replied, 'We cannot say we will definitely sell them, we are researching the market.' From here, on this blessed day of Ramadan, I am calling out to all our citizens in Turkey: The rate of citizens aware that the bridges will be sold is 35-40% according to polls. Once, let those who hear this tell those who have not. The rate of those who are aware and support the bridge sale is 10%, 90% are against it.

'THEY WANT TO SELL THE GOOSE THAT LAYS THE GOLDEN EGGS TO FOREIGNERS'

And they want to sell the goose that lays the golden eggs to foreigners. As I said, the day the man raises the price fivefold, he will collect all the money in one year; we will all be deprived of the money that would have come in for 25 years. My objection to this is: I need that money, the Republican People's Party needs that money, the Turkey Alliance needs that money. If you do it next year, it's 24 years; if you do it the year after, it's 23 years of that money coming into Republican governments... With that money, we will raise the lowest pension to the minimum wage, and then we will make it one and a half times the minimum wage. With that money, we will raise the minimum wage; we will provide social security support and subsidy premiums to small tradesmen, SMEs, and industrialists who will be struggling. With that money, we will pay the farmers the 5 subsidies they are entitled to, instead of the 1 you give them while the law says 5%. With that money, we will tell the student who wants to buy this phone: 'There is no tax on your first phone or your first computer, brother; this phone is 50,000 liras for you' (meaning at its real price).

"THEY WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AT THE BALLOT BOX"

That is why, as they are on their way out, you will see the departure of a government; the opposition knows this from the villages—thankfully, things have been going that way for a long time—the village head knows it when he sees someone coming from afar. They understand it from the information coming from the bureaucracy. Both the voter and the government show their departure by what they do on their way out. Now, on their way out, they say, 'Let me take the 25-year money immediately, maybe I can do something before the election and fool the people.' The people are fed up with such things, and as they say, 'Winter passes, but the wolf does not forget the frost it ate.' These difficult days will pass, but this pensioner, this laborer, this student, this tradesman, and this farmer will not forget what you have done; they will hold you accountable at the ballot box.

"NOW THEY HAVE SET THEIR SIGHTS ON NATIONAL PARKS"

There is a saying often used in Manisa, when things pile up one after another, they say: 'The dead are not one to be washed, the mad are not one to be tied.' We are in such a state that they have sold and sold, and they still aren't satisfied. Our group deputy chairmen said it last week, a report came from the relevant colleagues; now they have set their sights on national parks. National parks... It's such a thing; Ankara Soğuksu National Park is a target, Uludağ National Park is a target, Bolu Abant and Trabzon Altındere National Parks are targets. Do you know what they are going to do? They have submitted a legislative proposal to lease these national parks for 49 and 99 years on their way out. It's over, they see it now; the passenger is gone, you can't stop them even if you tie them down. The pensioner is waving goodbye like this, the minimum wage earner is waving goodbye. They say that after this point, the polls are clear, you see what has happened. Polls are being announced rapidly, this month's polls have arrived. Except for one, which said for a month before the last local elections that the AK Party would not lose any Istanbul district; on the last day, the gap changed by more than 1 million in favor of İmamoğlu. In other words, they conducted a perception operation for a month, then they said 1 million, and they lost by 1.5 million. That is a private company, it found the AK Party ahead. So far, 7 polls have come before us; thank God, the Republican People's Party is the leading party in Turkey in all of them.

"SAVING THE GALATA TOWER FROM THE GENOESE IS EASIER THAN SAVING IT FROM THIS AK PARTY"

In some, we are maintaining the gap, in others, we are widening it, but the Republican People's Party is ahead. It is clear that the Justice and Development Party is on its way out, and those who have their eyes on the road have set their eyes on the national parks. Just think, you are the ruling party of the Republic of Turkey here, you are not an occupying army! If you believe in democracy, you leave today and come back tomorrow. What is the point of taking Abant from the hands of the people and giving it to a crony, taking it from the forestry administration, taking it from the Ministry of Culture, and handing over certain places to cronies? On their way out, they will give Abant to a crony, they will give Uludağ to a crony, and they are trying to take the Basilica Cistern and give it to a crony, they will take the Galata Tower and give it to a crony... Honestly, saving this Galata Tower from the Genoese is easier than saving it from this AK Party, honestly, it is easier.

"WE WILL TAKE IT BACK BY FORCE"

But I am telling all our citizens: Know that this government is selling bridges, it is selling them on its way out. Know that it is selling Abant, it is selling Yedigöller, it is selling Spil, it is selling Uludağ; know that it is because they are leaving. And I am telling those who will buy them, those who will buy: There has never been a job that Özgür Özel said he would do and did not do when the conditions were met, nor a promise he did not keep. I am saying it here, let them sell as much as they want; when the nation sends them away and brings the Republican People's Party, when it brings the Turkey Alliance, I am telling those who are salivating now; we will not let you keep that Abant Lake for 99 years, we will take it back, fair and square. "WE WILL BREAK ALL THE TOLL BOOTHS ON THE HIGHWAYS"

First, first we will make those bridges and highways they built with transition guarantees and such the property of the nation. "WHERE WAS THE AK PARTY'S MIND 10 YEARS AGO WHEN THE CHP WAS SAYING THESE THINGS"

Now we say don't sell the bridge, don't sell Abant, don't sell Uludağ; we say we will lose money, we insist, they say we will sell. Look, the bill for selling state assets has appeared immediately. My hometown is Manisa, my heart beats in Soma, you know we experienced a great tragedy. We were always in Soma when the trees were being cut down in Yırca and when our 301 children were massacred. There were 86 hearings, I attended all 86. On the first day, 10 thousand people were at the door, on the last day, 240 of us listened to the verdict, but we did not give up on the follow-up. That's where I am in Soma again, like a goose that lays golden eggs, maybe even more; there is the Soma Thermal Power Plant. It has been working for years, it has been printing money for years, it has been heating Soma for years. We struggled for years to ensure its filter was proper so that Soma would not be poisoned. When the state operates it, there is a filter, in the privatized ones there is not; we said don't do it.

They insisted, we will privatize the Soma Thermal Power Plant in 2015. We said don't do it. My brother, this coal comes, it becomes electricity, you sell it. The buyer of the electricity is clear, there is a buyer for the electricity, the money is cash. There is a buyer for the coal, the money is cash. Why should we sell this and let someone else make money? The money we earn... No, we will privatize it. They did a privatization, I must have made at least 10 press statements in front of it. To the place it buys from, the Turkish Hard Coal Institution, our institution, has it also piled up 18 billion in debt in 11 years? The Turkish Hard Coal Institution is a creditor of 18 billion, we are all creditors. This one says I couldn't manage, I went bankrupt. 48 thousand people in Soma are in the cold. I saw a press statement, I am not there; there were three of us, Sercan Okur is there. What happened in the last elections? "THE INFLATION OF THE MINIMUM WAGE AGAINST THE IFTAR TABLE HAS FALLEN FROM 18 TO 7"

Now, I have been showing this for two weeks; Tayyip Bey said three years ago, 'If you are buying less bread, curse me.' This year, it is 3,950 liras. Compared to 3 years ago, the cost of hosting guests with this menu for a family of four has increased by 723%, Tayyip Bey! And when proportioned to the minimum wage; 3 years ago, a minimum wage earner could set this table 18 times, today's minimum wage earner can set it 7 times. The inflation of the minimum wage against the iftar table has fallen from 18 to 7. A 723% increase compared to 3 years ago has emerged at the Ramadan table.

Therefore, therefore, I will speak at length on an appropriate day next week—the agenda is very full today. But from the blessed Ramadan, when Ramadan arrives, voices should soften, one should refrain from hurtful words, embrace instead of polarizing, reconcile those who are estranged, and the full should understand the state of the hungry... "WE WILL GET RID OF THE AK PARTY, WE WILL LIVE IN PEACE"

That is why we will see that the AK Party member, MHP member, CHP member, DEM member, and IYI Party member—whose labor is exploited—are arm in arm, that the real enemy is those who exploit labor, and that it is the AK Party that exploits both the votes and the labor of my brothers and sisters in beautiful Anatolia who pray, fast, and observe their religion, while leaving them with a 20,000 lira pension; we will get rid of the AK Party, and we will live in peace.

"WE HAVE NO DOUBTS ABOUT OUR ABLUTION, SO WHY SHOULD WE HAVE DOUBTS ABOUT OUR PRAYER?"

As the common saying in Anatolia goes: "We have no doubts about our ablution, so why should we have doubts about our prayer?" The Republican People's Party has no doubts about its Atatürkism, statism, nationalism, republicanism, or secularism. But to create polarization from this and say, "Let me form a front against the CHP, let me crowd my back..." There is no such thing! We are discussing Turkey's future with those you have behind you. We are discussing a CHP government with those retirees, those workers, and those young people. We are dreaming of the future of Turkey with young people who dream, whether they wear headscarves or not, all hand in hand, arm in arm, both at university and on the street. We are gifting a Turkey without bans, a Europe without visas, and a world to everyone, both AK Party supporters and CHP supporters, together. What are you talking about?

"MANY OF OUR BUSINESSES MAY CLOSE, MANY OF OUR WORKERS MAY BECOME UNEMPLOYED"

Now, a critical and important issue. We will be in power tomorrow; someone else is in power today, but everyone is chasing their daily bread, and there is a danger ahead that will shrink that bread. There is a danger. Europe is working on a new initiative called "Made in Europe." And they have preparations to protect the member countries of the European Union and exclude countries outside of it. Turkey actually has a great opportunity ahead if it were managed well, but there is a great danger if it is managed poorly like this. If they are not convinced and if they leave Turkey out of this in the vote on March 4, Turkey will remain outside of Europe regarding the "Made in Europe" stamp, and there will be difficulties in selling our products produced in Bursa, Denizli, Kocaeli, Kayseri, Konya, Adana, and Gaziantep to Europe, or they may not be bought at all. Many of our businesses may close, and many of our workers may become unemployed.

"DO NOT DRIVE OUR BUSINESSES TO BANKRUPTCY"

But here, on this "Made in Europe" issue, Turkey is a candidate country; we are one of Europe's most important countries. You cannot cross into Asia without us; Istanbul is ours, the bridges are ours, we are here. We are one of the founders of the Council of Europe, we are the owners of the idea of the European Union. If this AK Party hadn't done these absurd things—that is, if they hadn't defied everyone by saying things like "I will turn the Copenhagen criteria into Ankara criteria" and if they hadn't engaged in such anti-democratic actions after saying "I will join first" and then failing to comply with ECHR rulings—we would have joined long ago.

We believe that as one of the owners of the idea of a United Europe, you cannot leave us out. As the Republican People's Party, we have written a letter to the governments of the countries in the European Union for this purpose. With three titles: As the Republican People's Party, which is the founding party of the country, today's main opposition party, tomorrow's ruling party, and Turkey's leading party, we say: 'Do not leave us out in this Made in Europe business. A delegation consisting of our esteemed Secretary General Selin Sayek Böke and our Deputy Chairman responsible for Foreign Policy Namık Tan, under their leadership, is flying to Europe. Until the day of the upcoming vote, Ms. Selin and Mr. Namık will carry out the necessary work both with the deputies one by one in the European Parliament and before the Socialist Group and the Democrat Group where we are very strong. 'DO NOT SEE TURKEY AS CONSISTING ONLY OF THE AK PARTY'

Do not see Turkey as consisting only of the AK Party; in Turkey's future, there is the Republican People's Party, the founding party of Turkey. Do not leave us out of Europe!

'MORE THAN 71 THOUSAND PEOPLE WERE KILLED IN GAZA'

I said it a moment ago, we sat at the iftar of the Felicity Party, we especially stayed away from domestic politics and found common ground on one issue. What was that? More than 71 thousand people were killed in Gaza. Most of them were women and children. The esteemed chairmen made important approaches on this issue. Mr. Davutoğlu said that the parliamentary groups should work together on this, and I expressed to him that we approach it positively.

There was also an important point on the podium that we all agreed on; that is the security of Palestine and the Palestinians, the security of Gaza and the West Bank, and Turkey standing in the right place on this issue. As you know, Trump established a board called the 'Peace Board.' Its name is peace; imagine that there are no Palestinians on the Peace Board. Who is at the head of the Peace Board? Trump, who says, 'I saw Gaza, it was beautiful, it has the sea in front of it. I will build high, beautiful hotels on that strip, I will build casinos, gambling houses. It should be an entertainment center, and there is natural gas in front of it. I liked Gaza, I want it,' has put himself at the head of the Peace Board.

62 countries were invited, and almost no country with common sense went. 41 countries refused. For example, Spain's Pedro Sanchez said, 'Gaza belongs to the Gazans, who are you to decide? The Palestinians will make the decision for that place.' We expressed that we are of the same opinion and said, 'do not go.' They called it a Peace Council, we said Palestine is not there, they said, 'Israel is not there either.' Then, it was a move typical of Trump; he didn't say he invited Israel at first. People went to the Peace Council, meaning they said they would go; countries with common sense, the world's powerful giants, did not take part in this. Middle Eastern countries, whoever felt weak in the face of Trump, went there. Those who felt they were dependent on Trump went. Our side also said, 'we will come too.'

Three days before the meeting, Trump summoned Netanyahu. Which Netanyahu? The Netanyahu who has the blood of 71,000 people, 40,000 children and women on his hands. In Trump's words, a 'war hero.' What is a war hero, anyway? What is a war hero? Someone who is successful in a war. 71,000 people have died in Palestine, 40,000 children and women have died; he calls him a hero. He held those bloody hands and sat him down at the 'Gaza Peace Council' where Palestine was not present.

"I AM ADDRESSING THOSE WHO VOTED FOR ERDOĞAN"

Look, they took a family photo. Hakan Fidan attended on behalf of Erdoğan; Gideon Sa'ar attended on behalf of Netanyahu. They are together in the family photo, and Hakan Fidan and the Foreign Minister of Netanyahu—the blood-stained Netanyahu, the war criminal Netanyahu—participated together in a Peace Council where Palestine was absent, to build casinos and gambling halls in Gaza, to build the high-rise hotels Trump dreams of, to carry out the occupation plan for Gaza, which he described by saying, 'I liked it, that beach would make for great tourism,' and 'I also want the natural gas in front of it.'

To the conscience of our nation...

IMM INVESTIGATION

Now, two important points... A second issue that will leave its mark on the IMM investigation, case, and trial is a historic confession regarding Erdoğan, and a truth will emerge that will be talked about from now on and whose discussion cannot be prevented.

The first is March 19... What did we say? 'The religion of the state is justice.' We believe in, we have faith in the saying that the religion of the state is justice. We attach great importance to this saying of Ali ibn Abi Talib. Without justice, there is no peace, no prosperity. Just last year on March 19, they attempted a civil coup. One evening, they went and canceled the diploma of our presidential candidate, the child of the Black Sea, the child of Trabzon, Ekrem İmamoğlu. Why? Where is a diploma used? In a presidential candidacy. It is not used anywhere else in politics.

Then, the next morning, they went to his house, called it a 'terrorism investigation,' and took him away. What was this terrorism? They claimed he supported terrorist organizations, but that turned out to be a lie and vanished. What did they say? They called him an 'agent,' they called it 'espionage,' they are saying whatever they can find, just like FETÖ. Those pathetic matters have passed, and no one is talking about them anymore. What did they say? 'There is a plane, I went after it...' It turned out the plane belonged to an AK Party member, and the one who rented it was the AK Party... The man said, 'We are supporters of the President, we did not rent any plane to İmamoğlu.' No, they said, 'this happened inside this plane, that happened.' They risked every kind of disgrace, but they couldn't stand behind any of it.

They keep saying what? 'Sir, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality is facing 560 billion liras in corruption.' The indictment is there, but there is no evidence to prove a claim of even 560 kuruş. Yet, they had listed everything from start to finish. Now, God has no stick, but there is someone to show His presence... The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, the audits conducted by the Court of Accounts, and I have the documents here—the letters issued separately by the Court of Accounts itself or by the relevant units of the IMM upon its request—and in these letters, every claim has been addressed, every demand has been addressed, and they all end the same way, page after page.

There are two sections. The findings and results of the Court of Accounts regarding the period managed by the AK Party... Furthermore, not just the Court of Accounts; whatever internal audit or external audit there is, it states: '56 investigation and referral reports with various dates and numbers were prepared on the grounds that public loss occurred as a result of decisions, transactions, or actions contrary to legislation arising from the intent, fault, or negligence of public officials...' This is the period managed by the AK Party. You know, Mayor Ekrem brought these out, Soylu went and took them, saying 'I will conduct the investigation,' and sat on them; there is no news since. In those 56 investigation and referral reports with various dates, no progress could be made because permission for investigation was not granted.

This is the CHP period, friends, the CHP period: It was subjected to a special audit starting in 2022 by chief inspectors of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, chief inspectors of the Ministry of Trade, and experts from the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK); furthermore, the IMM, İSKİ, and IETT were also subjected to processing between 2020 and 2025, and it was observed that no public loss was identified in the reports prepared as a result of the special and general audits.

The general business and transactions of the IMM, İSKİ, and IETT from 2022 to the present have been subjected to special audits by chief inspectors of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, chief inspectors of the Ministry of Trade, and experts from the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK); furthermore, their general business and transactions from 2020 to the present have been subjected to general audits by Civil Service Inspectors of the Ministry of Interior, and it was observed that no finalized public loss was identified in the reports prepared as a result of these special and general audits. The CHP period, the AK Party period!

I am calling out to all journalist friends; they can obtain the signed reports for each of these issues from our press unit, both for the 56 matters during the Justice and Development Party period and for these reports here. These are sent by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality to the governor's office, the court, and every relevant place via official correspondence. The evidence for all of them is here. Özgür Özel did not conduct the audits. The inspection board of the Republican People's Party group did not conduct the audits. These audits were conducted by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, by MASAK, by the Ministry of Interior, and by special inspection boards. Not a single kuruş of public loss was encountered.

Now, one must say this to Erdoğan; he used to say, 'The men were caught with money, four ministers, their children... shall we zero it out, let's zero it out.' Millions of dollars came out of the clothing bag of one who is currently an ambassador, and out of the shoeboxes of the others. First, they said, 'FETÖ put them there,' then they asked for them back with interest. An election happened, they won the local election, so what happened to these? They said, 'Our nation forgave and acquitted us at the ballot box.' Here, he told prime ministers, 'If my brother were to commit theft, I would cut off his arm,' and they cut off his head just to open the way to the Supreme Council. And since that day, Erdoğan's fundamental defense has been: 'If it doesn't come out of the state treasury, there is no such thing as theft.'

It is clear that not a single kuruş came out of the state's, the nation's, or the IMM's treasury before the trial began. Sir, what is the crime? The crime is this: a nursery is to be built, a man comes during the AK Party period and wants something, come here, 20%... 10 is his share, 10 is that one's share... These are finished, look, 56 of them are proven with witnesses. In the Republican People's Party, God forbid! Not a single soul has put a kuruş in their pocket; they said, 'If you are going to build, build a nursery.' There is a 'crime of building a nursery,' 'don't build a nursery.' They said, 'Build a school,' 'furnish the inside of the mosque,' 'we built a dormitory here, you buy the televisions too.'

Not a single penny of ours went into anyone's pocket, but a daycare center for poor students was furnished. In other words, it wasn't the AKP's cronies or the offspring of a bad seed filling their pockets, but something done in favor of the needy. Then, the businessman says, 'Well, they forced me, that's why I built the daycare.' Well, they forced you, and you filled the nation's pockets. Did he build the daycare by force here, or did he do it out of his own goodwill? You put your mother's name on it. Don't give me any of that; they grabbed them by the throat and said, 'Sign here or we'll seize your assets.' There, they said, 'I was forced to build such and such inside the daycare,' and they are trying to invent a crime of extortion to prosecute us. Look, state inspectors signed off without anyone forcing them: 'There is not a single penny of loss to the public,' they say, 'not a single penny of public loss.'

THE "DIPLOMA-LESS ERDOĞAN" CASE

Now, since March 19, we have been going to the squares by bus... In fact, if there is a good chant, we play music together and do things. Since March 19, these university students, my brothers and sisters, thank you, have been constantly chanting. What is the slogan? 'Diploma-less Erdoğan.' They are all shouting together. I have also joined in at one point; actually, it happens like this: A group of university students is shouting, some people over here are shouting something else, the ones on this side are saying 'rights, law, justice,' and this side is saying 'diploma-less.' I say, 'Wait, take turns,' I turn around and say, 'Say it,' and I also say, 'Diploma-less Erdoğan.'

Erdoğan filed a lawsuit over this. 'Sir, the phrase "Diploma-less Erdoğan" is a slander, an insult,' he filed a lawsuit. I asked our lawyers, 'What will happen?' They said, 'Well, this doesn't constitute an insult, but if they present evidence, if they say you said there is no diploma but we have a diploma, then in this system, there might be a penalty...'

Look, the plaintiff acting on behalf of the Turkish Nation is Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the opposing party is Özgür Özel... It says; in this numbered case file of the Ankara 44th Civil Court of First Instance, the counsel for the plaintiff Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has filed a 'motion for recusal of the judge,' says the plaintiff. 'Recusal of the judge,' a request to dismiss the judge... It says; 'this judge can no longer hear this case.' The reason... Let me say it first, let me show it. The judge is there, our lawyer is there - my dear, young brother - and here are the President's lawyers... They say, 'Sir,' they say, 'the client of these people, Özgür Özel, says that our client Recep Tayyip Erdoğan does not have a diploma.' And mine says: 'Is there one? Friends, the joke doesn't end there, don't laugh too early. The judge says: 'Ha, what are you saying?' he says. They say: 'We have a diploma because a diploma is required for the Presidency.' And the judge says: 'Let Mr. Erdoğan's diploma be presented to the file.' They say: 'No, we don't have to present it.' "THEY ARE SAYING, LET A JUDGE COME WHO WILL NOT DEMAND THE DIPLOMA FROM US"

Excuse me, but the joke doesn't end there either. Erdoğan's lawyers explain that the presentation of his diploma to the court was requested, they explain exactly what I just said. And that the judge insisted on the diploma being presented to the file... To date, we have followed both the administrative court cases Mayor Ekrem filed regarding his diploma and the various accusations and forgery cases filed against him. Mayor Ekrem has printed his diploma on white papers almost as large as this podium. He has printed the petition he wrote to receive his diploma, the approval letter, and the documents of those who transferred horizontally from his own institution. He transferred from a university in Cyprus to Istanbul University's business administration program. Except for two courses—History of the Revolution, Turkish, etc.—he retook all the remaining courses. Because they said, 'we are more comprehensive, our university is.'
