Breaking News... Özgür Özel reiterates early election call: Muharrem İnce is back in the CHP!

CHP leader Özgür Özel is speaking at his party's group meeting.

İNCE HAS RETURNED

Memleket Party Chairman Muharrem İnce has returned to the Republican People's Party (CHP), from which he resigned 4.5 years ago. İnce arrived at the hall where the CHP group meeting was held alongside CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.

Özel made the following remarks:

"I invited him back to his father's house. Because he believes in the necessity of winning by uniting and standing shoulder to shoulder, he has entrusted his party to its oldest member. Their congresses will be convened in the coming days, and the party will effectively dissolve itself. And then, we will welcome all Memleket Party members back to their father's house.

Muharrem İnce stated, "I did not come here today with arrogance, regret, or a personal agenda. I came here today at the sincere and heartfelt invitation of Mr. Özgür Özel. Separations sometimes stem from hurt feelings and sometimes from seeking hope through different paths. My arrival here is not a return; it is an embrace, a reunion, and a longing fulfilled.

Some stand behind the law that will have olive trees cut down for mining activities, and we stand against them. We will fight until the end. Even in the days we were apart, we did not abandon the light of a pair of blue eyes or the principles of Atatürk. We are here today to be your unbowed head, your voice that does not stay silent, and your wrist that does not bend. There is no salvation alone; either all together or none of us."

CHP leader Özgür Özel's statements are as follows:

"The Republican People's Party continues to maintain its position as the leading party, widening the gap in all polls. On one hand, our party is under attack by the government and by members of the judiciary who have turned into tools of the government, despite this strength.

We were there on the day of the hotel fire in Kartalkaya while cooling efforts were still underway. We met with the relevant ministers. They said they would finish the investigation in 10 days and that all those responsible would be revealed. However, they have been buried in deep silence for 5 months. An expert committee was appointed. They gave the committee three days. They did not accept the report. Why? Because the report stated that the hotel management, the Bolu Provincial Special Administration, and the Ministry of Tourism were responsible.

Suddenly, they declared that expert report a 'pirate' report and appointed new experts. Let them know this: The Minister of Tourism, the Minister of Tourism in the 1st degree, requested permission for the prosecution of the civil servants and those responsible in his own ministry. He did not grant that permission.

The Minister of Tourism, who has been shamelessly occupying that seat for 150 days, is touring Greece on his 50-meter luxury yacht while grieving families are preparing for the first hearing.

He says, 'I have to see my rivals. That's why I'm touring and examining in Greece.' Here, in front of all of Turkey, I say to the Minister of Tourism: If you went to Greece, learn something from there. For example, learn this: Learn that Greek newspapers reacted to the Greek Minister who resigned 11 days after the 2018 forest fire that killed 90 people, telling him he was too late.

Learn that after the train accident that killed 57 people, the Greek Minister of Transport resigned immediately after the accident, saying, 'The people who died died unjustly. It became a duty to resign in their memory.'

People have burned to death, and you are touring the Greek islands to 'get to know the rival' at the hotel where you are responsible. Greek ministers resigned just 10 days after the incident. 150 days have passed since the incident. You are looking us in the eye with such brazenness. Shame on that minister, on the one who appointed him, and on the one who does not dismiss him.

'4.7 MILLION YOUNG PEOPLE ARE AT HOME'

4.7 million young people are unfortunately sitting at home, ashamed to ask their mothers and fathers for pocket money. Workers, retirees, and farmers cannot make ends meet and cannot look their children in the eye.

Those who cannot make ends meet are forced to rely on credit cards. The total debt of 39 million citizens who have credit cards has reached 2.1 trillion liras. That is, if we were to divide all the credit cards in Turkey among ourselves, we would each have 54,000 liras of debt per person. If we gave the 60 billion dollars they burned during the March 19 coup to all the credit cards, we would pay off all this money.

'WE ARE NATIONALLY UNDER EXECUTION'

The number of files in enforcement courts was 22 million last year. This year it has risen to 23.5 million. That is 1.5 million more files in enforcement courts. We are as a nation in a debt trap; we are as a nation under execution. And there is a part of this debt trap that is outside of bank debts.

'BUYING A HOUSE IS A DREAM'

There is no longer any possibility for a normal wage earner in Turkey to own a house or a car. A 2+1 apartment was 177,000 liras in 2018; the same apartment is 3,700,000 liras in 2025. The location is Ankara. Since that date, the minimum wage has increased 13-fold. The pension has only increased 8-fold. The price of a 2+1 apartment has increased exactly 21 times.

Here is the apartment price that has increased 21 times against the salaries of minimum wage earners and retirees that have increased 8 and 13 times. We are in an era where young people, those starting work, civil servants, and workers have no hope of buying a house to put a roof over their heads in Turkey."

MINIMUM WAGE DEMAND

The Republican People's Party's minimum wage demand is 30,205 liras. We advocate for providing incentives of 6,250 liras each to small tradesmen and the textile sector, and decreasing incentives to others, allocating the 51.5 billion liras that the state will collect in excess premiums to this incentive, and allowing all minimum wage earners to take a deep breath.

REACTION TO FATİH ALTAYLI

They are broadcasting Fatih Altaylı's empty chair, and 1.3 million people watched the empty chair in 24 hours. We convey our feelings of solidarity to Fatih Altaylı and everyone else who is being held inside just for expressing their thoughts.

'PEACE DOES NOT COME WITH A LOW VOICE'

The country's surroundings are indeed a ring of fire. Above, the Ukraine-Russia War. Below, Syria, where the state of instability is uncertain. Israel, which is carrying out a great genocide, the Palestinians it has massacred, and Trump, who is spoiling it. Turkey traded with Israel while it was burning. Peace does not come to the region with a low voice. These issues will never be resolved by having a fake quarrel with Netanyahu in small letters.

ELECTION CALL

"As the Republican People's Party, we are ready for an election to be held at the beginning of November, in which Erdoğan can also be a candidate, and for the nation to decide who will govern Turkey. I challenge you.

I am calling out to Erdoğan from here: Leave my candidate alone. Bring the ballot box. We want to see my candidate by my side, the ballot box in front of me, and make Ekrem İmamoğlu the President."
