Breaking News... Shocking CHP demand from the Prosecutor's Office: Confiscation of the Istanbul Provincial Headquarters building requested

Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the indictment regarding the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) was completed after 237 days.

In the prepared indictment, a total of up to 2,352 years of imprisonment was requested for IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu on charges of "rigging a tender" and "misconduct in office."

"DETERMINED TO HAVE BEEN PURCHASED WITH PROCEEDS OF CRIME" STATEMENT

Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek, who explained the details of the indictment to members of the press, made a striking finding regarding the Republican People's Party's (CHP) Istanbul Provincial Headquarters building located in Sarıyer. Gürlek announced that the building in question was not purchased solely through donations and that there are findings indicating that a portion of the payments consisted of "proceeds of crime."

CONFISCATION REQUEST PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 54 OF THE TCK

In the indictment prepared by the Prosecutor's Office, it was requested that the CHP's Istanbul Provincial Headquarters building be evaluated within the scope of "money laundering."

The following statements were included in the indictment:

"It has been understood that the assets subject to the money laundering process, registered in the name of the Republican People's Party legal entity, located in the Sarıyer district, Ayazağa Neighborhood, Block 7752, Parcel 2, Shop, should be confiscated in accordance with Article 54 of the TCK."
