BREAKING NEWS... Yılmaz Tunç announced: Family of PKK leader Öcalan has filed an application

In the process that began with the call from Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli, a DEM Party delegation had gone to Imralı Island to meet with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan. Following this visit, Öcalan had called on the terrorist organization PKK to lay down its arms.

In its latest statement, the DEM Party announced that the planned visit to Imralı was not permitted. The statement indicated that the application was rejected and, as a result, Abdullah Öcalan's message was not broadcast at the Newroz celebrations in Diyarbakır.

NEW STATEMENT FROM YILMAZ TUNÇ

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç also made a statement regarding the visit of Öcalan's family to Imralı. Minister Tunç stated that the family of PKK leader Öcalan has applied for a visit to Imralı Island and that the application is currently being evaluated.

(On the detention of journalists) Regarding those involved in incidents, one needs to know the status of the files for each individual. If journalists, who are people informing the public, have participated in the action, then of course, what is the status in the judicial file? Let us ask and investigate the situation regarding the journalists you mentioned. If there have been attempts involving violence or provocations, that is not right either, but let us have their situations looked into.

(On Özel's boycott call) The boycott call is a truly wrong policy. It is not right to invite people to boycott the companies of this country one by one; these are wrong things, and they must be abandoned.

(On the Kartalkaya expert report) Regarding Kartalkaya, expert reports prepared by academics from Istanbul Technical University were submitted to the prosecutor's office. Afterwards, Mr. Özel did not make any statements; previously, he engaged in some disinformation based on an unsigned text. We lost 78 of our lives there, 36 of whom were children; one does not engage in polemics over such pain.
