Budget marathon begins in Parliament: To be presented on October 17

The negotiations in the committee regarding the Budget Law, the 2022 Central Government Final Account Law proposals, and the Court of Accounts reports are expected to last for one month. After the committee negotiations are completed, the process will continue in the TBMM General Assembly. According to the draft program of the Planning and Budget Committee, budget discussions will begin with a presentation by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz in the committee on October 20. Following the budget presentation, a one-week break will be given for committee members to make preparations. While discussions on the budget as a whole are scheduled for Thursday, October 26, in the Planning and Budget Committee, the 2024 budget discussions for ministries and institutions are expected to be completed on Friday, November 24. Budget discussions for public administrations in the committee will begin on Friday, October 27, with deliberations on the TBMM budget. Subsequently, according to the determined schedule, the budgets of ministries and other public administrations will be addressed.

IN THE TBMM GENERAL ASSEMBLY FROM DECEMBER 4-17

The articles of the 2024 Central Government Budget Law Proposal and the 2022 Central Government Final Account Law Proposal will also be discussed on Friday, November 24. The TBMM Planning and Budget Committee will begin discussing the budgets of public administrations at 10:00 AM each day and will work until the end of the daily program. The committee will convene at 11:00 AM on Mondays. Following the completion of the discussions in the Planning and Budget Committee, the 2024 budget is expected to come to the TBMM General Assembly between December 4-15.
