According to the decision of the Supreme Election Council (YSK), public officials must resign from their posts by 5:00 PM on Friday, December 1, in order to be eligible to run as candidates in the local elections on March 31, 2024.

BUĞRA GÖKCE SUBMITTED HIS RESIGNATION

Buğra Gökce, who has served as Deputy Secretary General at the IMM since June 1, 2022, has resigned from his post at the IMM to run as the CHP candidate for Mayor of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality.

Gökce is expected to travel to İzmir early next week to submit his candidacy file to the CHP Provincial Presidency.

12PUNTO ANNOUNCED IT FIRST

12punto was the first to report that Buğra Gökce, who served in the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality during both the Aziz Kocaoğlu and Tunç Soyer terms before coming to the IMM, would be a candidate for İzmir.

3 NAMES STAND OUT FOR CHP IN İZMİR

In the CHP, which has accelerated its local election efforts, current İzmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer had stated, "I deserve to be nominated once again." However, according to information obtained from behind-the-scenes sources, Soyer will not be nominated on March 31, 2024.

The names of Selin Sayek Böke, Murat Bakan, and Buğra Gökce were being discussed for İzmir within the CHP. 12punto had reported that among these 3 names, the person who stood out the most was Buğra Gökce.
