Bülent Arınç emphasizes change: 'Gangrenous limbs will be amputated'
Former Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Bülent Arınç made significant statements regarding the future of the AK Party and its change process on the party's 23rd anniversary. Arınç called for setting aside grievances, stating, "Wounds will be dressed, and gangrenous limbs will be amputated."
Former Speaker of the TBMM and one of the founders of the AKP, Bülent Arınç, issued an important message on the 23rd anniversary of the AKP's founding. In a post on the social media platform X, Arınç shared his assessments regarding the party's journey from the past to the present and its future process of change.
In his message, Bülent Arınç stated that the founding story of the AKP was the march to power of the Anatolian people, saying, "The Movement of the Virtuous, which was the first nucleus of our AK Party, was a ground of consensus that our nation put forward against corruption, poverty, and bans."
Emphasizing that the AK Party's greatest success was implementing all reforms with the support of the nation, Arınç said that the AKP, which acts with the understanding of "for the nation, together with the nation," has emerged stronger from every election.
Acknowledging that there are some difficulties at the point reached today, Arınç stated that the nation has different demands.
Expressing that the only party capable of responding correctly to these demands is the AKP, Arınç said, "Only we can provide justice, prosperity, and development again."
Stating that he sees a sense of pessimism among citizens during his domestic and international travels, Arınç emphasized his belief in the party's change process by saying, "We will rise again from where we fell today. We will get rid of the troubles."
Bülent Arınç argued that the AK Party's "sacred march" will continue and that the upcoming congress will be the harbinger of standing up again.
LET US SET ASIDE GRIEVANCES
Bülent Arınç said that grievances within the party should be set aside, stating, "I invite everyone who has devoted their heart to this cause to set aside all grievances and resentments and join under this roof to realize this change together."
Bülent Arınç also stated that there must be change within the party, saying, "Wounds will be dressed, and gangrenous limbs will be amputated."
Bülent Arınç's statements are as follows:
The AK Party began as the story of the march to power of the Anatolian people, who had been excluded by the system, by creating an army of believers. The Movement of the Virtuous, which was the first nucleus of our AK Party, was a ground of consensus that our noble nation put forward against corruption, poverty, and bans. Compared to today's artificial alliances, it was the greatest and most natural alliance formation our noble nation has put forward since our struggle for independence and future.
I am proud to be a founding member of this cause, which began as a rebellion of Anatolia and the Anatolian people against the status quo. I pray for God's mercy upon those who stood by our AK Party with faith and perseverance in all the difficulties it faced and who have since passed away, and I express my gratitude to those who are still with us.
The AK Party's greatest success was implementing all reforms by drawing strength from our nation. Producing politics "for the nation, together with the nation," the AK Party emerged stronger from every election it entered. With the reforms we carried out, we succeeded in the fight against the 3Ys (corruption, poverty, and bans). We made significant progress in the EU membership process. We gave our country a breath of fresh air in terms of bureaucracy and regulations. We took unprecedented, courageous steps in our history to resolve ethnic, political, and economic problems that fueled social conflict.
At the point we have reached today, we have some difficulties. We must also admit that we have been unsuccessful in some areas. That is why our nation has different demands. The latest election results also prove this.
The only party that can correctly respond to this demand is the AK Party again. Only we can provide justice, prosperity, and development again. In my travels at home and abroad, I see a pessimism among our citizens regarding this issue.
Upon a similar question on a television channel, I said, "We will rise again from where we fell today. We will get rid of the troubles," and I received calls of thanks and congratulations from all over the country.
I say it again; "I do not have the slightest hesitation about this. Change will happen. Wounds will be dressed, and gangrenous limbs will be amputated. The AK Party's sacred march will continue, and this wheel will not remain in the rut. The upcoming congress will be the harbinger of standing up again. I invite everyone who has devoted their heart to this cause to set aside all grievances and resentments and join under this roof to realize this change together."
With these feelings and thoughts, I celebrate the anniversary of our AK Party's founding and express my gratitude for their efforts to all the founding cadres, especially our Chairman Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and to every administrator and organization member who served afterwards.
