Busy agenda in the Turkish Parliament for the new week

In the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly, deliberations will continue on the "Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on the Transformation of Areas Under Disaster Risk and Certain Laws and Decree-Law No. 375."

According to the proposal, the identification of risky structures can be carried out ex officio by the Urban Transformation Presidency or the administration. Owners will be granted a period of no more than 90 days at once for the demolition of risky structures, and in case of obstruction of the evacuation of the structures, the evacuation will be carried out with the assistance of law enforcement. Urban transformation will be able to be carried out based on a decision taken by the absolute majority of the owners.

The proposal also includes a regulation aimed at accelerating judicial processes regarding buildings in the earthquake zone that cannot be demolished due to requests for the cancellation of demolition decisions.

BUDGET NEGOTIATIONS

The Planning and Budget Committee will continue its deliberations on the 2024 budget. The 2024 budgets of the Ministry of Industry and Technology on Tuesday, November 7; the Ministry of Interior on Wednesday, November 8; the Ministry of Health on Thursday, November 9; and the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change on Friday, November 10, will be discussed in the committee.

The Health, Family, Labor and Social Affairs Committee is expected to begin deliberations on the Draft Law on the Establishment of the Family and Youth Fund. 

GROUP MEETINGS ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the political parties with groups in the Parliament will hold their group meetings.
