CHP Mayors in Istanbul have released a joint support video calling for the freedom of Tayfun Kahraman, who served as the head of the Earthquake Risk Management and Urban Improvement Department at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality before his arrest.

For two years, we have found ourselves under a heavy burden that could not be borne alone.

But a large and strong family has embraced us with their love.

Our colleagues, our students, our friends, the Republican People's Party (CHP)—the father's hearth and legacy of Atatürk to which Tayfun belongs—and the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality family where he worked...

We have a large family that knows, loves, and trusts Tayfun.

Just as they have for two years, I offer my heartfelt thanks to everyone who lends their voice to Tayfun's today, who stands on the side of rights, truth, justice, and conscience, especially the Mayor of our Istanbul, Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu, our district mayors, and the entire IMM family.
