Call from Özgür Özel to citizens in Bulgaria

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel hosted the Co-Chairman of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), Cevdet Chakarov, and his accompanying delegation at the CHP Headquarters.

Following the visit, Özel made significant statements regarding the general elections to be held in Bulgaria on October 27, 2024.

'MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER'

Özgür Özel pointed out that the Bulgarian elections hold particular importance this year and called on Bulgarian Turks and dual citizens to cast their votes.

Özel stated, "Dear Bulgarian Turk and dual citizen brothers and sisters; the elections to be held in Bulgaria on October 27 are more important than ever. Everyone who is a dual citizen can vote in these elections. Ballot boxes will be set up in many of our provinces such as Istanbul, Bursa, Izmir, and Tekirdağ."

PROMISE OF SUPPORT FROM CHP

Stating that the CHP would provide all kinds of support to increase participation in the elections, Özel used the following expressions:

"We are encouraging participation in the Bulgarian elections through our provincial and district headquarters. We invite everyone who has the right to vote to go to the polls so that the Movement for Rights and Freedoms is represented in the best way possible. We will do whatever is necessary regarding voting on October 27. Anyone who has a request on this matter can apply to CHP district and provincial headquarters."

A NON-PARTISAN ISSUE

Stating that all political parties should show the same sensitivity regarding the elections in Bulgaria, Özel said, "This is not a party issue within Turkey. It is important for everyone, regardless of which party they support, to vote in the Bulgarian elections. We, as the CHP, will do our part, and we believe that other parties will contribute in the same way."
