Chief Presidential Advisor Uçum comments on 'solution process': 'Opportunity for Erdoğan to run again...'
Chief Presidential Advisor and Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Legal Policies Board, Mehmet Uçum, shared his assessments on social media regarding the "solution process" debates that emerged following MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli's handshake with DEM Party members during the new legislative year and the subsequent mutual statements.
Chief Presidential Advisor and Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Legal Policies Board, Mehmet Uçum, shared an assessment on his social media account titled "New process debate."
Uçum stated the following:
'THE CLAIM OF A "SOLUTION PROCESS" IS ABSURD'
"Regardless of what attitude or language is referenced—softening, normalization, or handshaking—there is not, and cannot be, a solution process in Turkey similar to previous practices or in a new version. Those processes are in the past; they belong to history. The claim that a 'solution process' is being initiated due to the aggression of Zionism is extremely absurd and shows a lack of awareness of Turkey's power. One should never address the issue in such a meaningless context.
THE TERROR PROBLEM
The state does not retry paths and methods from which it has not achieved full results. The state finds other effective paths and methods. These are the strong and effective political and military strategies implemented after July 15. There is no question of softening or abandoning these. Terrorism has been almost completely liquidated within Turkey. With cross-border security zones, a process has been entered into to liquidate it entirely. No one can hinder this process.
ERDOĞAN'S RE-CANDIDACY
However, this situation does not exclude approaches to developing a constructive language in politics, especially in Parliament, and establishing dialogue with everyone. Because the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) is the highest state authority tasked by the people with developing dialogue and a common language. Every party and every actor in Parliament is expected to fulfill this duty.
Such initiatives have absolutely nothing to do with opening an opportunity for President Erdoğan to run again by deciding to renew elections with 360 deputies in the TBMM. Furthermore, it has nothing to do with paving the way for President Erdoğan's candidacy through a new constitution.
Assessments made with interpretations contrary to reality and imaginary constructs are completely baseless.
'BAHÇELİ IS OFFERING DEM AN OPTION'
The call to 'become a party of Turkey' is valuable and can be translated as follows:
First, it is to provide an opportunity for those who express the demand rising from within DEM itself: 'save us from the politics of terror and violence.'
Second, it is to offer DEM an option to save it from the tutelage of terror.
Third, it is to liquidate the terror tutelage made effective in the TBMM through DEM, both via DEM and from the TBMM.
'TERROR TUTELAGE CONDUCTED THROUGH DEM WILL BE LIQUIDATED THROUGH LEGAL MEANS'
If DEM does not evaluate the opportunity offered to it to get rid of the terror tutelage from a social and political perspective, or if it abuses this opportunity, then the terror tutelage conducted through DEM in the TBMM will be liquidated through legal means. This is an unavoidable fact.
If the terror tutelage is buried in history through this opened path, the TBMM will gain the opportunity to implement a new constitution worthy of the second century of the Republic, the Century of Turkey, in a much stronger and more inclusive manner, building upon the principles of the first four articles and democratic gains. No one should miss or ignore this historical opportunity.
'DIALOGUE AND COOPERATION FOR DEMOCRATIC POLITICS'
The way to achieve this could be as follows: To continue the struggle that will destroy terror to its final point exactly as it is, but to implement dialogue and cooperation in a way that makes democratic politics, which will strengthen Turkey's integrity, unity, and democracy, as comprehensive as possible. This is also possible.
Let no one hope for or expect anything else outside of this framework."
