CHP's Alp: AKP is shifting soldiers and police as voters to provinces and districts

Speaking on behalf of the CHP Group during the motion for an investigation into election security discussed in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), CHP Kars Deputy İnan Akgün Alp said, "How has the AKP prepared for the March 31 elections? This time, they are trying a different method. They have carried out a voter mobilization; they call it voter mobilization. They are hoping to change the election results in some districts and provinces of Anatolia, where election results change by a small margin of votes, by shifting our soldiers and police as voters to those provinces and districts."

"THESE SOLDIERS AND POLICE BELONG TO ALL OF US"

Stating that this method is the "beginning of the end" for the AKP, CHP's Alp said, "You had two important claims. You were going to fight against military tutelage and you were defending the supremacy of the national will. Today, by registering soldiers and police as voters, you are trying to establish an equation of 'the army plus the AK Party equals power.' This is what will bring about your intellectual end; I am warning you. You will bring about an 'army plus AK Party equals power' equation. If you do this, you will be putting the military, which we call the 'hearth of the prophet,' onto the AK Party's election bus, and this will be the beginning of the end for you because the hearth belongs to all of us, to the whole country; these soldiers and police belong to all of us," he said.

"I WILL BE WAITING AT THE SCHOOL GATE"

Alp continued his words as follows:

"As the Kars Deputy, I will be in Kars for the March 31 elections. I will be waiting at the gate of the school where the 3,500 soldiers you shifted to Kars as voters will cast their ballots, and I will look into their eyes. On March 31, I will have a conscientious appeal to our soldiers whom you transferred from Trabzon, hoping to change the election result in Kars. I invite Hulusi Akar to abandon this, and I call on you not to involve our soldiers and police in politics any further."
