CHP Central Executive Board accepts Tanju Özcan's request: A message of 'seeking forgiveness' from Özcan

It has been claimed that the CHP Central Executive Board (MYK) has responded positively to Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan's request to return to the party following his expulsion.

While it is claimed that the decision was taken by a majority vote, the final decision will be made by the CHP Party Assembly (PM).

Making a statement on the matter via his social media account, Özcan said the following:

"I have learned with pleasure that the issue regarding my request to return to my ‘Father’s House’ will come to the agenda of the CHP MYK and Party Assembly today. In this process, as a success-oriented politician, I seek forgiveness from our party members whom I may have unintentionally hurt or upset due to my posts and remarks. From now on, I will work even harder for the success of our party both locally and nationally… Everything will be much better."

In his message, Özcan also tagged CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and the official X account of the CHP.

PARTY ASSEMBLY MEETS TODAY

The CHP PM meeting will be held today. At the PM, which will begin with Özel's presentation, the amnesty requests of those previously expelled from the party will be addressed first. The most important agenda item of the PM will be the Statute Congress, which was planned to be held by the previous administration at the end of November but for which no decision was taken. The date of the "Statute Congress," which 81 provincial chairs who met on November 14 in the CHP requested to be held after the local elections, will be clarified at this meeting. A decision for Tanju Özcan is also expected to emerge from the PM.
