CHP Chairman Özgür Özel: 'The doors of our pro-people municipalities are open to everyone'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel: 'The doors of our pro-people municipalities are open to everyone'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel said, "Our mayors provide equal service without looking at anyone's sect, without saying Alevi or Sunni, without discriminating by sect, without looking at their ethnic origin, without looking at whether they are Turkish, Arab, Kurdish, Laz, or Circassian."

Özel attended his party's mayoral candidate introduction meeting held at the ASKİ Sports Hall in Adana.

In his speech, Özel said, "Two weeks from now at this hour, the ballot boxes will have started to open and the results will have started to come in. At these moments, according to the rules, the votes for Adana Metropolitan Municipality will be counted and Zeydan Karalar will once again become the Mayor of Adana Metropolitan Municipality. There are 16 district municipalities behind. We have very ambitious candidates in all 16 municipalities. Three of these candidates are key: Fadime Geçioğlu in Karahisalı, Sudiye Gizem Aksoylu in Kozan, and Oya Tekin in Seyhan. In the second century of the Republic, I am entrusting three Republican women, three daughters of Atatürk, to the women of Adana and to all men who respect women's rights. The Republican People's Party members in high school are very excited, they are counting the days. They want to turn 18 and become members of Atatürk's party. They are putting up a great fight in high schools. We applaud them wholeheartedly."

Özel continued his speech as follows:

"We held crowded and beautiful rallies. We held magnificent rallies in Ceyhan and Seyhan. I expressed it there as well. Our mayors provide equal service without looking at anyone's sect, without saying Alevi or Sunni, without discriminating by sect, without looking at their ethnic origin, without looking at whether they are Turkish, Arab, Kurdish, Laz, or Circassian. In Ceyhan, in Çukurova, in our other 15 districts, and in the metropolitan municipality, the doors of our pro-people municipalities that do not discriminate between people are wide open to everyone."

Following his speech, Özel introduced his party's mayoral candidates one by one.
