CHP Chairman Özgür Özel to pay 75,000 TL in compensation to Erdoğan
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel will pay 75,000 TL in non-pecuniary damages due to his statements regarding President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on April 26, 2022.
In the lawsuit filed following statements made by CHP leader Özgür Özel in front of the Çağlayan Courthouse, Özel has been ordered to pay 75,000 lira in non-pecuniary damages.
Erdoğan's lawyer, Hüseyin Aydın, stated, "Due to the speech he gave in front of the Çağlayan Courthouse on 26.04.2022, in which he accused our President of destroying judicial independence and other such unfair allegations; the Ankara Regional Court of Justice 25th Civil Chamber has issued a final ruling ordering CHP Chairman Özgür Özel to pay 75,000 TL in non-pecuniary damages."
