CHP's Sezgin Tanrıkulu visits Selahattin Demirtaş

Sezgin Tanrıkulu, Deputy Chair of the Turkish Parliament's Human Rights Investigation Commission and CHP Diyarbakır MP, visited former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş and former Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Selçuk Mızraklı, who were sentenced to 42 years in prison in the Kobani Case.

Speaking to the press in front of the Edirne F-Type Prison after the visit, Tanrıkulu said:

"I am in Edirne. I visited Selahattin Demirtaş and Selçuk Mızraklı in prison. I have personal friendships and a personal relationship with both of them that date back long before politics. Based on that relationship, I have tried and continue to try to visit them as long as they are in prison, and I share my views regarding the prison with them as well. There was a judicial process. That judicial process was concluded as of last week, and very heavy sentences were given to Selahattin Demirtaş and other politicians. We are both lawyers. We also talked about and discussed this case. Ultimately, I can express this: Their morale was extremely high; they expressed that all our friends should not be worried and should maintain their hope, and they conveyed their greetings and love to everyone from Edirne. I wanted to make sure I passed that on."
