CHP figure who did not sign the convention declaration makes a statement on Erdoğan: A jab at the Özgür Özel camp

Following the reinstatement of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu as chairman by a ruling of absolute nullity in the CHP, 111 deputies within the party signed a text calling for an extraordinary convention. However, 27 deputies did not join this call. This division within the party has brought questions such as "Will the deputies who did not participate in the convention act together with the AKP?" and "Will they support the government's new constitutional proposal?" to the top of the agenda.

Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, in his statement regarding the absolute nullity crisis and convention debates in the CHP, expressed his 'wish' that the internal party conflicts would not be reflected in the second opening process called 'Terror-Free Turkey,' saying:

"I hope they do not reflect this internal party fight and division onto such a very important issue as ending terrorism, which is the most significant problem of the first century of the Republic of Turkey. I think this Parliament is more advantageous than previous parliaments in terms of the opportunity to draft a constitution. As long as everyone brings their ideas to the table with good intentions and sincerity."

"WE WILL NOT BE ON ERDOĞAN'S SIDE"

Ordu Deputy Mustafa Adıgüzel, who did not sign the convention declaration signed by 111 CHP deputies, made statements regarding the issue. According to a report by Cumhuriyet, Adıgüzel said, "Things like 'The party is effectively split in two, constitutional amendment with Erdoğan' are being written. Not a single one of the friends who did not sign for the convention would be on the side of Erdoğan, any constitutional amendment by the government, or any equation constructed against Turkey."

Adıgüzel stated that it was not their wing that was in talks with the government, adding, "It is the people around Özgür Özel who are the side of normalization with the Palace and Numan Kurtulmuş so that a nullity decision would not be issued. Therefore, if something compatible with the government is to be done, we would expect it from these friends in particular."
