CHP files application with Constitutional Court for annulment of 2 laws and 4 decrees

The CHP has applied to the Constitutional Court for the suspension and annulment of 2 laws and 4 Presidential decrees. CHP Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın made a statement after he and his party members submitted the application to the High Court.

Günaydın celebrated the 63rd anniversary of the Constitutional Court and invited the High Court to work effectively in protecting the constitution.

Stating that they have applied to the court for the suspension and annulment of 2 laws and 4 Presidential decrees, Günaydın noted the following:

"We have brought to the Constitutional Court the issue regarding the Law on the Justice Academy of Turkey, which allows personnel to be appointed to the central and provincial organization staff of the Ministry of Justice upon the request of the President of the Justice Academy, as well as the ambiguity regarding the scope of personnel who can benefit from teaching services. At the same time, we have brought to the Constitutional Court the ambiguity of the crimes and penalties foreseen for those who act contrary to the rules regarding the purchase and sale of commercial goods under the TÜBİTAK Law, the fact that the fees to be paid to persons assigned to TÜBİTAK are determined by the board of directors without legal criteria, and the ability of the KOSGEB Presidency to request information from real and legal persons without guarantees for the protection of personal data."

Gökhan Günaydın stated that they are also requesting the suspension and annulment of Presidential decrees numbered 179, 180, 181, and 182.

Stating that they have made many annulment applications before, Günaydın requested that the Constitutional Court bring these to a conclusion, and stated that as the CHP, they will continue to protect the constitutional rights of citizens and public order, and to pursue individual rights and freedoms.
