CHP's Günaydın announces: Judge who released 8 people in İmamoğlu protests removed from duty

Republican People's Party (CHP) Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın made a statement regarding the protest actions organized following the detention of CHP's presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.

Günaydın announced that the judge who released 8 people, who were detained during the protests and referred for arrest, due to lack of evidence, has been 'punished'.

"In Istanbul, a Criminal Judgeship of Peace judge, with a decision rendered on March 23, 2025, released 8 people referred by the prosecutor's office with a request for arrest, citing lack of evidence and ordering judicial control instead, contrary to the request.

'HOW DARE YOU DO THIS...'

How dare you do this? First, the judge who made the decision is removed from the criminal judgeship of peace by a decision of the Justice Commission and made a general jurisdiction judge. Subsequently, as a result of the objection filed, an arrest warrant is issued for 4 of the 8 people mentioned.
