CHP's 'internal peace' move ahead of the convention! Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu gave the order...
As it prepares for its convention, the CHP leadership has decided to follow a different tactic. Ways are being sought to prevent the appearance of 'division and infighting' at the convention, where 1,368 delegates will determine the party leader, the 60-member Party Assembly (PM), and the High Disciplinary Board.
The Republican People's Party (CHP) headquarters has taken action ahead of the 38th Ordinary Convention to be held on November 4-5.
ORDER FROM KILIÇDAROĞLU
It has been learned that Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu gave the instruction: ''Determine the convention slogan and the chair of the council together with the intra-party opposition so as not to project an image of division and infighting.''
In the CHP, Group Chairman Özgür Özel and former Party Assembly Member Örsan Kunter Öymen will challenge Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu for the leadership.
CHP sources state that Kılıçdaroğlu is acting on the reasoning that “division and fragmentation at the convention will cause us to lose the local elections.” Efforts are underway to solicit the opinions of all delegates and provincial chairs on this matter.
WHAT WILL THE SLOGAN BE?
CHP staff stated that preliminary work has been done regarding the main slogan of the convention and that the ''Second Century'' theme has come to the fore.
However, they state that the slogan has not yet been finalized due to the search for a “joint slogan determination” with the participation of the opposition.
