CHP leader Özgür Özel's 'Öcalan' and 'Constitution' statement in front of the 1st Parliament: 'For the right to hope of one person...'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel arrived at the 1st Parliament for the October 29 Republic Day celebrations.

Accompanied by CHP deputies, Özel will participate in a public meeting in front of the 1st Parliament and then march to Anıtkabir.

Özgür Özel addressed the citizens at the public meeting.

'FOR THE RIGHT TO HOPE OF ONE PERSON...'

Highlights from Özel's statements are as follows:

There are those who try to intimidate and direct this country through terrorist organizations or mafia leaders. We need to stand tall against them, to defend labor, retirees, farmers, and tradespeople against those who restrict justice and democracy for their own personal interests, against those who calculate a constitutional amendment for one person, and against those who consume the hopes of this country for the so-called right to hope of one person; we need to raise the voice of the nation together, show great courage, and protect democracy, brotherhood, and the Republic of Turkey. That is why we are here today.

Let no one forget that if there is a guarantee of our brotherhood and the indivisible integrity of this country, it is the CHP, the work of Atatürk.

We are here together on this historic day with the same enthusiasm as 100 years ago and with the same faith and determination as the first year. Let no one underestimate this square.

'IF THOSE STEPS ARE TO REACH THE CONSTITUTION, WE ARE NOT THERE'

If it is about courage, we have it; if it is about being prepared, we are. We have no accounts we cannot give to the nation, no promises made to anyone, no agreements behind closed doors. There is openness, transparency, and determination.

If someone is going to do something based on personal accounts and interests as it has been governed for 22 years, and if those steps are to reach the Constitution, we are not there.

I would like to state here that we are against division, fighting, and conflict, but we are also not on the side of anything that cannot be looked in the eye of martyr mothers, martyr fathers, and veterans.

REACTION TO ÇANKAYA MANSION

CHP leader Özel also announced that he did not attend the reception because there was no response to his request for it to be held at the Çankaya Mansion instead of the Atatürk Forest Farm.

Özel also said, "Erdoğan is there, we are here. The Palace is there, we are here. Of course, and very soon, of course, Republic celebrations will be held in the nation's home, the Çankaya Mansion, and rest assured, a President you elected will be sitting there that day."
