CHP Party Assembly convenes: New Central Executive Board to be determined

The Republican People's Party (CHP) held its first Party Assembly meeting following the 22nd Extraordinary Congress, which took place on September 21 under the slogan "No to Coups and Trustees." The first stop of the meeting was Anıtkabir.

The PM members, who appeared before the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, proceeded to the party headquarters after a moment of silence. The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Chairman Özgür Özel, was closed to the press. Özel delivered a presentation speech addressing the PM members.

MYK IS TAKING SHAPE

The most critical agenda item of the meeting was the formation of the new Central Executive Board (MYK). The list presented by Özel to the PM will begin its term if approved by a simple majority of the members. Since the regular congress will be held in approximately one and a half months, no major changes are expected in the current MYK.

Following the PM meeting, Özel will head to Afyonkarahisar to attend the 57th of the "The Nation Protects Its Will" rallies, which his party organizes with calls for early elections and freedom for Ekrem İmamoğlu, the party's presidential candidate who is currently imprisoned in Silivri.

The CHP leader's schedule will not be limited to Afyonkarahisar. Özel will subsequently attend the opening ceremony of the Huzurpark Ferdi Zeyrek Amphitheater, which was implemented by the Uşak Municipality.
