CHP prepares for change: Paths will part with some names

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel will hold meetings with members of the Central Executive Board (MYK) and the Party Assembly (PM) ahead of the 39th Ordinary Congress to be held at the Ankara Sports Hall on November 28-30. The meetings will cover the evaluation of final preparations before the congress.

Özel will first chair the MYK meeting on November 27 at 09:00. During the closed-door meeting, preparations for the congress will be discussed. Following the MYK meeting, a meeting will be held with PM members at 10:00, where the MYK working report prepared for the 39th Ordinary Congress will be reviewed and finalized.

CHANGES EXPECTED IN THE KEY LIST

Within the scope of the congress, it is anticipated that the key list that Özel will present to the delegates for the election of PM members will undergo changes compared to previous congresses.

During the meetings to be held at the headquarters, Özel will thank some MYK and PM members for their work to date.

The 81 provincial chairmen, who were recently elected, will also gather at the headquarters before the congress. Meetings for the Provincial Chairmen, the Program Preparation Commission, the Bylaw Preparation Commission, and the Final Declaration Preparation Commission will be held.

CHANGES TO BE MADE AT THE CONGRESS

On November 28, the first day of the congress, the prepared party program will be submitted to the delegates for approval. Additionally, changes such as increasing the number of PM members from 60 to 80 and setting the age limit for youth branches at 18-40 are planned. Delegates are also expected to vote on amendments to certain articles in the party bylaws.

ELECTION RESULTS AND ANITKABIR VISIT

Following the congress, a 3-day period will be granted for the announcement of final election results and for any objections. On the first Saturday after the congress, CHP Chairman Özel will visit Anıtkabir with the PM members determined at the congress. Following the PM meeting to be held on the same day, the new MYK members will be shared with the public.
