CHP's Bülbül responds to question about a new party: Points to Özgür Özel
Regarding rumors that some CHP deputies might join a new political formation, CHP Aydın Deputy Süleyman Bülbül underscored party loyalty, stating, "We will abide by every decision our Chairman Özgür Özel makes."
Republican People's Party (CHP) Aydın Deputy Süleyman Bülbül answered questions from journalists at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and shared his views on recent allegations reflected in the public sphere.
Rumors that some CHP members would defect to a party allegedly being formed, which emerged in the shadow of intra-party debates, became a topic of discussion at the Parliament. Evaluating the issue, Süleyman Bülbül emphasized the CHP's deep-rooted history and institutional identity.
Stating that the party charter acts as a constitution for the CHP, Bülbül expressed that it is impossible to act outside the provisions of the charter. Bülbül said, "You will not implement the extraordinary convention article of the charter, and then you will come out and talk about purification. Purification happens within the law. It is not about leaving your companions as captives in prison. Purification is resisting together with them."
Regarding the question about allegations that deputies would join a new party, Bülbül responded by focusing on party culture and loyalty to leadership. He stated, "We are CHP members. We have roots that go back to the Kuvayı Milliye and the CHP party. As our 2nd President İsmet İnönü said, 'A new world is established, and Turkey takes its place.' We will abide by whatever decision our elected Chairman Özgür Özel and our headquarters make."
