'Trustee' debates in CHP! Harsh reaction to Kılıçdaroğlu: 'You are Erdoğan's CHP trustee'

Discussions continue regarding the CHP's party congress lawsuit scheduled for June 30. Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's statements concerning a potential trustee decision had already caused controversy within the CHP wing.

"IF I DO NOT ACCEPT IT, A TRUSTEE WILL COME" 

Most recently, following claims that a trustee would be appointed if the congress is declared absolutely void, it was alleged that former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said, "I hope it is not declared absolutely void, but if it is, I cannot abandon my party to a trustee. If I do not accept it, a trustee will come. Should I leave it to a trustee?"

Kılıçdaroğlu's alleged remarks drew a reaction from academic Dr. Emrah Gülsunar, one of the individuals against whom he had previously filed a lawsuit.

"YOU ARE ERDOĞAN'S CHP TRUSTEE"

Regarding the claim, Gülsunar posted on social media: "You are the trustee yourself, you shameless collaborator. Why would a trustee be appointed while you are there? You are Erdoğan's CHP trustee."

WHAT HAPPENED?

As the legal process and debates regarding the congress continue, journalist Nevşin Mengü stated regarding Kılıçdaroğlu and the legal process: "The information I received from very reliable sources in Ankara is that the prosecutor conveyed this message: 'If Kemal Bey comes here, gives a statement, and says, "How could such a thing be? Could there be corruption in the CHP? I was the chairman at the time; such a thing did not happen at the congress I organized. I do not accept it," we will close this file,' the prosecutor said. Such a message was sent, but Kılıçdaroğlu still did not go to give a statement."

Academic Dr. Emrah Gülsunar quoted the video containing Mengü's claims about Kılıçdaroğlu and said, "This is where words end. For a person to knowingly try to reclaim a chairmanship they lost through the regime's unlawful judicial operation is a clear lack of honor and integrity. This individual should be expelled from the party and spat in the face everywhere."

Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu had filed a criminal complaint with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against journalist Nevşin Mengü and academic Dr. Emrah Gülsunar on the grounds of "insult" and "slander".
